Now you're trying to define caving as starting to negotiate. This is a win for Biden in the big picture. He doesn't have to deal with this until 2025. Democrats need to take the W. Let republicans try to kill it, which they will. And then they will try to kill McCarthy. Give them plenty of rope as they continue to define themselves as chaos agents who can't govern. The deal is for no increase this year and a 1 percent increase next year. Republicans could have refused to pass a budget and passed continuing resolutions for the next two years. The administration’s starting position was refusing to negotiate at all…..but yes, as I said the deal is a good one imo. But I do wonder if the extremity of the beginning position was strategic so as not to give up as much in negotiations toward securing a deal.
