Playoffs Wild Card Round Discussion

Must admit haven't really paid a huge amount of attention to the news surrounding the playoffs and more focussing on the coaching and GM searches going on around the NFL, also keeping an eye on the final declarations for the 2023 Draft which is due by Monday.

The two games with the most interest from my perspective is the Jags vs Chargers and Cowboys vs Bucs as I think both Staley and McCarthy could be in trouble if they lose with Sean Payton still out there and available, also curious to see if Trevor Lawrence handles the playoff intensity better than he did last week against the Titans.

Staley should definitely be on the hot seat if they lose. Playing his starters in a meaningless game last week costs them Mike Williams.

I hope Trevor chokes and the Jags get blown out.

Should be a pretty decent weekend; 2 games today, 3 tomorrow and 1 on Monday night.

Some fun trivia:

The Patriots franchise has won a total of 37 postseason games….which is the most of any franchise  in NFL history.

The Steelers and Packers are tied at #2 with 36 postseason wins.   The Cowboys (35 wins) have the third most.

Tom Brady has won 35 postseason games in his career.   If the Bucs beat the Cowboys this week, he’ll have as many postseason wins under his belt as the Steelers and Packers franchises.   If the Bucs should make it to the Super Bowl this year, a win in the NFCCG would be the 38th playoff victory of Brady’s career…which means  Tom Brady would personally have more postseason wins than any franchise in NFL history,

New rules for the playoff overtime beginning this year.. Both teams will have a possession even if the first team scores a touchdown..the second team could go for 2 and win, but if it's tied after their possession, first score sudden death occurs

Guaranteeing both teams a possession makes it advantageous to have the second possession, much like college OT…..so the team that wins the coin flip will almost certainly choose to kick off rather than taking the ball.

Tannehill haters should be pissed at Robinson because if he'd drafted someone who could come in and be competent like Purdy then the decision to move on would probably already be made.

Had to try to find a way to turn this into a QB thread 😈

Geno completed 95% of his passes in college.  I figured no way this kid will bust.  I see I was right.  Early maybe.  I think the closeup is what hurt Geno the most.  Those short passes are tough.
