No way he’s holding out or demanding a trade in late July 2022 if they put this contract on the table, no matter how silly his early position was. Well, unless neither of them wanted to be the 1st to sign and the trade-n-sign is what got the ball rolling. But even so, I think it is obvious the Titans didn't want to sign at this price, whether it was injuries or how he handled this that soured them or just a limit on positional value or whatever else. Obviously the 2023+ cap tasks played a large role too, which I'm not sure those 3 other teams share. I guess I'm just confused why there is an assumption the trade wasn't the way to go when that is something we won't be able to judge for a while. DK's whole process was very tightly held, Deebo's I think did have a breakdown at some point, but we don't really know what is happening behind the scenes. What gets reported may not be what is really happening. Apparently Deebo was still not talking up until a few days ago, but obviously that wasn't true. He wanted to be traded, he stopped talking to the team. Now he is getting in fights during practice and crying on social media. I now realize how much Vrabel kept him in line while he was here. Jamalisms Posted August 1, 2022 Report Share Posted August 1, 2022 Deebo publicly demanded a trade, not privately like AJ Brown, and cut off negotiations with the team for months. The difference is simply that the 49ers didn't blink because they knew they had control and they wanted him to be on the team for the price it would take while the Titans didn't want AJB on the team for that price. It wasn't just cutting off communication, it was demanding at trade, it was training with Hurts (when other WR were in Florida working with Tannehill) and openly flaunting it on social media, it was telling Hurts to tell Roseman to go get him from the Titans.
