Tgo drew a hard line saying volunteers not hostages, and I’m showing that’s a terrible blanket policy. Realistically even the most ardent supporter of this would concede an asterisk for HoF QBs. Sounds like a real serious breaking off of communication. I don't know how it happened. I do know he was offered another contract after the initial offer. I also know he at some point before or after that offer he cut off communication and apparently forced his way out with the 80 million guaranteed number. Maybe it's all bullshit, but what I know is the Titans under Amy and Robinson pay their players, so I simply do not see a situation in which this unfolded that they didn't earnestly try to re-sign him. Adams made it clear to the Packers he wouldn't sign a long term deal and wanted to play with Carr, Brown made it clear he wanted out and wanted to play with Hurts. Adams has openly said that was his intention, that he wasn’t going to extend with Packers. Brown has said the exact opposite. Seems like you put zero weight into what the players say. Tyreek Hill is a better comp. Chiefs wouldn’t pay him what he wanted, so they traded him where he wanted to go.
Jamalisms
Weird to see Adams and Tyreek discussed when Deebo is the best, near perfect comparison.

If he actually did demand $80M guaranteed at this stage then it was either him trying to reset the parameters as "you need to pay me to stick around as not my favored destination" or him trying to accelerate a trade by squashing any hope of coming down to an acceptable level for the Titans. Guess it worked?

And Deebo was willing to negotiate while Brown wasn’t. Thus you see the difference in outcome…

They're properly compared only for how much capital was received. Other than that it's definitely not a good comparison. On that note, a 1st and 3rd for a guy like AJ when Adams went for a 1st and 2nd definitely isn't bad at all.

Ok buddy, since that’s what you’re focused on, if Kevin Byard or Harold Landry said “trade me” because their contract negotiations weren’t going well 3 months before the deadline, would you automatically trade them because they “broke the code” of volunteers not hostage? That’s what tgo is suggesting.

AJ BROWN WAS BLUFFING Unlike the 49ers, the Titans don’t have the cap space in 2023 to franchise a WR. Brown had all the leverage and the Titans knew it. When he refused to negotiate they were forced to give him the trade he demanded.
