ctm
https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/arizona-cardinals/kyler-murray-29036/ At first glance, this looks like a very difficult contract to get out of. There are a lot of year early triggers. Cards don't get a big cap hit till 2024, but then it's almost 52M.

titaninpgh
Hard to imagine a bigger red flag for your franchise QB than having to put in "film study" clause in his contract.
El Guapo
Film study? You have to actually put this in the contract? And you still sign it? Shit. They could have signed VY for far less and still have an idiot as your leader.
OzTitan
I assume the film study clause is there as a potential out for the Cardinals. Like if things get petty, I'm sure they can find a week where he didn't get the 4 hours done. I hope someone is versing Murray on IT auditing (since it is a team provided device he will be using, as the clause states).
Stan
You can tell how immature he is. He has a clear complex, first being his small size, so he takes defensive to his abilities and I’m sure he has a “can’t nobody tell me nothing attitude” sounds like somebody we knew

Thrill
Cards are a joke. He had two years left on his contract.

titansfan
He's soooo talented. You don't add an unprecedented clause like that unless it's necessary. But I think the fact Murray agreed to this is at least admission so hopefully he's maturing. Kyler really could be an all time great

They also re-signed the coach who has had a record of tanking/stinking in the second half of seasons. It's not going to end well there.
nine
I like Murray as a young talent….but I have a sneaking suspicion the Cardinals will end up regretting this contract. Murray’s only 24 years old and strikes me as the type who could struggle to maintain the same level of focus and intensity after getting paid. titansfan
Kyler is used to always being the best at whatever he does athletically.. for his entire life. I'm not quite sure if there's a good read on what motivates him. I'm not sure it's money exactly. I think the better question is how much does not easily being the best at something really affect or drive him. Remember he transferred after not winning the starting job at T A&M
abenjami
4 hours a week for about only half the year? LOL at what a minimal amount of effort that is.
