Nothing coup(ish) about that at all. At least we agree that it was a riot. Yeah, Mostly peaceful. Wasnt that the mantra of the media and the left talking about burnings and lootings throughout the country? Jan 6 was a hell of a lot more peaceful than all the BLM and Antifa rioting.... Why not January 10? It just randomly happened that they physically assaulted the US Capitol building on the day and time that they were counting the electors for the presidential election? You think it was just some random day by chance and wasn’t ore-planned? Edited March 16, 2023 by Starkiller
begooode
there is a concerted and ongoing effort from angry lying Trumpers to rewrite 2020: covid, the election, Jan6. It’s bullshit and dangerous, and sets the stage for normalizing their dangerous animus driven bullshit as they push to regain power in the years to come. On 3/11/2023 at 8:05 PM, begooode said: Four members of the Oath Keepers were found guilty today by a jury in the District of Columbia of seditious conspiracy and other charges for crimes related to the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Their actions and the actions of others disrupted a joint session of the U.S. Congress that was in the process of ascertaining and counting the electoral votes related to the presidential election. According to the evidence at trial, in the months leading up to January 6, these defendants and their co-conspirators plotted to oppose by force the lawful transfer of presidential power, including by amassing an armed “quick reaction force” on the outskirts of the District of Columbia. The defendants – Roberto Minuta, 38, of Prosper, Texas; Joseph Hackett, 52, of Sarasota, Florida; David Moerschel, 45, of Punta Gorda, Florida; and Edward Vallejo, 64, of Phoenix, Arizona – were leaders and associates of the Oath Keepers organization. In addition to the seditious conspiracy count, all four were found guilty of conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of an official proceeding, and conspiracy to prevent Members of Congress from discharging their official duties. Hackett was also found guilty of destruction of evidence. “Today, the Justice Department secured the conviction of four members of the Oath Keepers for their criminal conduct surrounding the January 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol,” said U.S. Attorney General Merrick B. Garland. “A jury found all four defendants guilty of seditious conspiracy, as well as conspiracies to obstruct the certification of the electoral college vote and to prevent members of Congress from discharging their duties. I am grateful to the prosecutors, agents, and staff for their excellent work on this case.” “Today’s verdict is an important step in our continued efforts to hold criminally accountable those involved in the breach of the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021,” said FBI Director Christopher Wray. “We will continue to investigate those who sought to undermine the workings of American democracy and we will work closely with federal prosecutors to ensure justice is served.” “For the second time in recent months, a jury has found that a group of Americans entered into a seditious conspiracy against the United States,” said U.S. Attorney Matthew M. Graves for the District of Columbia. “The goal of this conspiracy was to prevent the execution of our laws that govern the peaceful transfer of power – striking at the very heart of our democracy. We are grateful to the thoughtful, deliberative work of this jury who gave weeks of their lives to carefully consider and deliver justice in this case and in so doing reaffirmed our democratic principles.” https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/four-oath-keepers-found-guilty-seditious-conspiracy-related-us-capitol-breach

Four more members of the Oath Keepers were convicted Monday of conspiracy to obstruct Congress’ Jan. 6 proceedings, bringing the number of members of the group found guilty by juries of felonies related to the Capitol attack to more than a dozen. Jurors found Sandra Parker, Laura Steele, Connie Meggs and William Isaacs each guilty of the most significant charges they faced: conspiracy to obstruct Congress’ proceedings, obstruction of an official proceeding, and conspiracy to prevent a federal officer from discharging duties. …Across the three multi-defendant trials, prosecutors have portrayed the group as a key driver of events on Jan. 6, conspiring to prevent the peaceful transfer of power from Donald Trump to Joe Biden, with some of them prepared to turn violent to achieve that end. Prosecutors noted that they had amassed a stockpile of weapons that they stashed at a hotel in Arlington, Va. that they discussed ferrying into Washington if the events had turned even more violent than they did. https://www.politico.com/news/2023/03/20/oath-keepers-january-6-00087904 Edited March 20, 2023 by begooode OILERMAN, IsntLifeFunny, Starkiller, and 3 others 5
begooode
The D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals sided with the Department of Justice Tuesday in ordering testimony from former chief of staff Mark Meadows and other top Trump White House staffers in the DOJ’s Jan. 6 investigation. A sealed Tuesday order denying an emergency motion from former President Trump’s team came after a flurry of late night activity in the case. Trump had appealed a sealed decision from then-D.C. District Court Judge Beryl Howell last week that rejected his claims of executive privilege over the officials, ordering them to testify. Aide Stephen Miller, former Department of Homeland Security official Ken Cuccinelli, former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe, and former national security adviser Robert O’Brien were also all directed to testify in Howell’s decision, as were John McEntee, then-director of the Presidential Personnel Office, and Nick Luna, an assistant to Trump. https://thehill.com/policy/national-security/3933593-appeals-court-upholds-order-for-jan-6-testimony-from-meadows-other-trump-officials-testimony/ Edited April 4, 2023 by begooode IsntLifeFunny, and MadMax
nine
I never cease to be amazed at the hypocrisy of the Trump camp. They flatly refuse to testify in the Jan 6 hearings and have done absolutely everything in their power to fight subpoenas and court orders directing them to do so....while at the same time declaring the hearings a farce because Trump has nobody there to defend him and present his side of the story. The J6 committee has invited numerous members of Trump administration to testify and present his side of the story.....but they absolutely refuse to show up. Popular Post begooode
Going back 15-20 pages in both Jan6 threads makes for interesting reading. The fucking excuses, deflections, and poorly aged counter arguments from Trumpers are embarrassingly shallow and disingenuous; or just riddled with faulty reasoning/rationalizations. This is a little slice of contemporaneous history right here in TR — and this is what the history books will look like describing the Trump era, the media grifters, and the their angry mob who continuously rejects reality while being quick to adopt bad faith narratives (dissonance) IsntLifeFunny, pamo9, OILERMAN, and 2 others
