I said from the start of the NFL will get what they want whether it be Nashville or someplace else that will. People on here actually did deny that the NFL always wins. The claim was that the NFL coveted the Nashville market and so it’s different than every other city that they’ve been out and left, that’s what was so hysterical. The NFL and most owners do not want to leave their cities. It's always the economics of the stadium - lease terms, revenue streams, etc. At the end of the day, the city/state will be providing the most public money in history to build a stadium. The funny thing is that the team part from the actual ownership is pretty small - of the 840 M the team is putting in, about 450 M will come from PSL sales and 200 M is in a low interest loan provided by the NFL. Of course it would have been funny. Mainly because of the hubris some have about Nashville and total ignorance on how the team ended up in TN to begin with. The fact that so many on here got upset with me saying it would be hilarious and that I hoped it happened only made it funnier. I said from the get go I expected the stadium deal to come through. I've also said many times I don't care where they play. I've not lived in the city they've played in since 1978. Where the division in the road was you locals claiming the city had any kind of leverage in the situation and that the NFL would act differently "because it's Nashville". Just yesterday the one retard claimed the team would have to take the city's deal that tried to jack with the non-football revenue stream.....Of course, the deal approved last night turned the 10% to 3% and exempted any college sports events and the CMA fest..... Quote Council member Jennifer Gamble proposed a successful amendment defining "team rent" as the greater of either $3 or 3% of the value per non-NFL ticket. A successful amendment from Council member Freddie O'Connell diverted any additional "team rent" past the $3 dedicated to stadium maintenance toward the city's general fund, meaning that money could be used through Metro departments to fund things like sidewalks, road improvements and other items council members report as priorities for their constituents. Under the amendments, several non-NFL events are exempt from the ticket fee: College events (including Tennessee State University football games and the Music City Bowl) High school sporting events CMA events, ACM events, the Grammy Awards and WWE special events. Jameson indicated this version of the "team rent" component of the deal would be a "compromise" acceptable to the Titans and entertainment industry stakeholders.
