Jamalisms
I honestly can't bring myself to watching any content creators. Hard pass. Maybe I'm just too old but, again, hard pass. Edited October 31, 2025 by Jamalisms

But if anyone ever used me as a news source then they're even dumber than I knew. Opinions and content creators are simply never going to equate to journalism and journalism is pretty much the only thing worth consuming (imo) in a world intent on feeding narratives. That’s what you’re doing when you watch Fox, CNN, or MSNBC. It’s also what you’re doing when you watch most media, you’re just choosing your slant. I’ve never been a “mainstream media is bad” kind of guy, but I do recognize that a lot of legacy media is being heavily censored right now because the current administration has shown a willingness to push back on them in different ways. Media literacy isn’t just about trusting “credentialed” sources. It’s about learning to sort through bias as best you can, recognizing who actually does their research. Learning the tactics propoganda uses to manipulate and being able to identify them so you know when they're being used. It’s being able to watch someone like Joe Blogs and understand his bias, his hesitancy to be overly critical, and his tendency to lean too heavily on numbers. It’s being able to watch Peter Zeihan and understand that he mixes opinion and assumption heavily with experience and expertise, and taking what he says not as fact, but as a blend of both. You can watch someone like Anna from Ukraine and know she has a PhD in linguistics and a deep background in language and politics but also remember she’s Ukrainian and has her own perspective. You can watch Aaron Parnas and use his reporting to get useful insights, while recognizing his limitations. You can watch TRDude and see his strong understanding of Russia and how it operates, but still account for his bias. You can watch Dean Withers debate and notice that he's very performative and young but then still find some of his debate points and tactics interesting. Hell, it’s even about understanding the limitations of ChatGPT, knowing what it’s good at, what it’s not, and when you need to verify what it says That’s media literacy, not rejecting information, but learning to weigh it. In the end, I’m not trying to convince you. I don’t post these things as facts; I post them as interesting information. It’s up to you to take from it what you can.
