Imagine a foreign country suddenly starts bombing US cities, killing the President and thousands of Americans…including bombing a school and killing dozens of school children As an American citizen, would these bombings make you more sympathetic to the other country’s cause? Or would it make you hate that country even more? According to Trump and his supporters, it’s the former. They’ve convinced themselves that Iranian citizens support what the US is doing…like we’re doing them a big favor by bombing their country and killing their government leaders. I think I heard the estimate before the war was a slight majority supported the current regime. So half at best supported regime change, and who knows who they support as they would likely be fragmented. I would guess 10% might support the US.
