“A U.S. fighter jet was shot down in southern Iran on Friday, prompting a frantic search-and-rescue operation that led to the recovery of one of the two downed crew members, U.S. officials said.

The rescued crew member is safe in U.S. custody, though their condition is unclear, and an intense effort is underway to recover the second crew member, the officials said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss the ongoing operation.”

Iran is no longer entertaining a potential peace deal with U.S. negotiators.

Tehran declared Friday that it would not meet with U.S. officials in Islamabad, adding that the White House’s demands are “unacceptable,” reported The Wall Street Journal’s senior Middle East correspondent, Summer Said.

The country’s regional neighbors are still attempting to mediate the situation, offering Iranian officials other opportunities to settle the conflict with the U.S. Turkey and Egypt have offered new venues for the talks, including Istanbul and the Qatari capital, Doha, as well as new proposals, noted Said.

A second U.S. Air ‌Force combat plane crashed in the Persian Gulf region on Friday and its only pilot was then ‌rescued, the New York Times reported, citing two U.S. officials.

An A-10 Warthog reportedly went down near the Straight of Hormuz around the same time an F-15E was shot-down over central Iran.

The A-10 pilot was rescued and there are currently no details on what caused the crash (anti-air, malfunction, etc).

Trump…the only elephant in the world who walks around with  his own china shop.”

Perfect.    Friggin’ nailed it.

The rest of the world sees Trump clearly for exactly what he is and has no problem saying it:  a narcissistic blowhard and idiotic bully who picked a fight on what he saw as a little guy….only to figure out too late it’s a fight he can’t win.

So now his answer has been to fire anyone who dares to acknowledge  how monumentally and disastrously he fucked up.

I never thought I’d live to see the day where America’s own allies were openly mocking and laughing at the United States.

But here we are.

Trump:  Making America a Goddamn Joke.

Actually, I was mistaken.  I did vote for it.  Much like everyone else, I had a vague idea of his policies.  He was against forever wars.  I interpreted that as no new wars period.  But I glossed over his proposed policies explicitly on Iran.  I conveniently interpreted "no forever wars" to mean "no new wars."  I still believe we will be in better position once the dust has settled.
