They sure do. And then Tannehill puts up 347 yds against them. Next.

You mean he puts up 347 yards against Seattle, the team ranked 29th against the pass this year and the worst defense overall?

I think you should try harder next time to defend your game manager. What Derrick Henry has been doing over the last 3 seasons is historic.

On Henry.....   I get tired head even discussing whether Henry is more important(not better player at his position) to the team than Tannehill. Anyone making this argument is just ignorant,

This is so backwards it's not even funny. If the Titans had only Tannehill and no Henry, their offense would be absolutely horrible.   But if you replace Tannehill with any average QB, or ev

You and oldschool, the arbiters and protectors of anti homerism. The guardians of objective observation.    Lol.    My “takes” are more accurate than yours have ever been or ever will be

The thread should be who is the best running back in the league, and another asking who is the best QB.

What's the point of that? The best RB in the NFL right now is clearly Derrick Henry, no one else is even close.

Whereas Ryan Tannehill isn't even in the discussion of who the best QB in the NFL is. Despite the great numbers he put up the last 2 years.

But if you replace Tannehill with any average QB, or even slightly below average, it wouldn't be all that different from what it is now.

Wrong,  They'd be less predictable on 1st down, would still use play action, and be effective.  They would miss the explosive runs Henry brings.  Tannehill or another good QB.

We've also seen how QB play can mitigate Henry's production like it did with Mariota.    Hopefully, we don't find out about the Woodside experience.

You do realize that if you put just another RB on the backfield not named Henry LBs or defenses in general are not going to bite as hard..... thus making Tannehills job at throwing much more difficult to achieve. I'm pretty sure they were showing alot of clips in last night games how Henry opens up the passing game for Tannehill.

Your take is ridiculous.

You're examples are terrible. Marcus had 3 serious injuries that messed up his careeer. Put a guy like Kirk Cousins, Bridgewater, Tyrod Taylor or any working QB with this roster and you'll get the same results.

Oh sweet history lesson there buddy. You do realize that part of the reason they're ranked poorly is because of the actions of Tannehill....right?

What you're saying works in an argument about last year -- mainly at the end of the year. It doesn't work this year, because even when Brown drops nearly every pass, we still have the fastest WR to 13K playing for us as the #1.

Lol... wut?

he RT has more td's and zero TO and nearly as many total yards.

this argument is over.

This is pretty weak.... it's been 6 games.

they are a pretty damn bad pass d even if you out the titans game.

meanwhile RT really hasn't done much all season. He's about equal for good and bad plays. I think he's got 7 or 8 turnovers and I'm not sure he's got that many total TDs or not.

He's at 21st  for pass yards... even with the one big game you are mentioning here.

he just doesn't feel right in the current offense yet. He's made some truly terrible passes.  It'll get better and he'll get more comfortable later and once the line gels more... but right now he's been pretty average and a game manager THIS season more than ever.

I think we all agree Derrick Henry is the Titans Best Player.

If Derrick Henry goes down, the team has to change the offense.

If Tanny goes down, it's over BECAUSE the Titans have shit for backup QB.

Let's add a wrinkle to this conversation since it's already off the rails. Let's say you switch Tannehill for say Kirk Cousins. Does Henry still dominate teams like he does now? I think so. Yes, he wasn't dominant with Mariota but Mariota was so bad that he might be too extreme an example. It's an interesting conversation because even though I still think Tannehill is the most important due to his position you might actually have better odds of acquiring a current Tannehill level QB than a once in a generation back like Henry. I expect to get flamed here but screw it. I'm curious about what y'all think!

I think Henry would be doing Dalvin Cook like numbers but he wouldn't be as great as he is now.    This is only because I think Tanehill is significantly better than Cousins at this point.

I think Tannehill is better too but I'm wondering what the cut off point is in QB quality before Henry appreciably declines in dominance. I'm not sure that the gap between Tannehill and Cousins is large enough to seriously reduce Henry's effectiveness.

When Cook is healthy he almost rivals Henry despite not having an the physical gifts. We see Chubb dominate in Cleveland with Baker and the are a bunch of similar examples. I'm thinking you might have to get down to like Sam Darnold/ Jimmy G levels before we'd see Henry start to resemble his old self some. No facts here, just spit-balling.
