No I don't think that has anything to do with super rich. It is the top 1.8% of income earners though.    Also if you think the proposals to raise the taxes on people making that much are ex

The constant, stark difference between France and the United States is freedom of speech. Everyone has freedom of speech in the United States - but they don’t believe in it in France. No, In France, only the free speech of the majority at a given time is allowed.

This is part of the reason why American Democracy (and protection of minority groups) is exceptional and why the government structure is built to ensure freedom for all and to endure the test of time. It is objectively the most superior form of government ever conceived.

Hmmmm… it’s not the economy repubs are upset about, or the stock market

Many more new 401(k) “millionaires” were created last year, but the overall number remains low, according to data released Tuesday.

Thanks to strong performances in stocks and bonds in 2023, coupled with steady savings rates and employer-provided matching contributions, 401(k) investors ended 2023 very much in the black.
That’s according to new fourth-quarter data from Fidelity Investments, one of the largest providers of workplace retirement plans that cover 23 million 401(k) participants.

The average 401(k) balance rose to $118,600 at the end of the fourth quarter, up 14% for the year. Among Gen Xers, the demographic cohort that will start retiring over the next decade, Fidelity found that the average 401(k) balance topped $500,000 among those who have been saving for at least 15 years consecutively.

Fidelity also reported that the number of 401(k) accounts with balances of at least $1 million rose in the fourth quarter by 20%, to 422,000 accounts; and by 41% for the whole year. The average account balance for this group was $1,551,300 in the fourth quarter….

another example of the media misrepresenting real stories and people have no clue it goes on everyday.

Is the article about a Gaza protest vote or just about some general type? I pretty much ignore people who post screenshots and don't link to the thing they're referencing. They're misrepresenting things a good amount of the time

dude  is a pretty well respected EV Twitter guy and is part of spliticket.org. They do a much better job of covering elections than the networks do. The reason his post stuck out is that my wife had CNN on this morning and they were running the story that the MI primary results were a warning for Biden last night which the post referenced. There has been a lot of buzz the past few days about Talib advocating for Dems to vote uncommitted to send a message to Biden about his support for Israel.

Let Biden be Biden. The Democratic political apparatus and the liberal media like MSNBC need to just shut the fuck up and let him cook.

I was all ready to argue against this strategy a few months back, and now that I’ve seen a bit more of Trump’s mangled word salads of American Carnage 2.0, you’re right. Orange guy has moved the bar WAY down. Even in his rants, Trump sounds like shit.
