$2 gallon gas = more 15mpg SUVs.  That might be what we want, because Americans believe we are entitled to cheap gas, but it's not necessarily what's best for us in the long run.  Every time gas has been cheap, we have become more and more wasteful with that valuable resource and fail to look at the total impact -- guzzle up!! another spin of Tragedy of the Commons

Standing in the picket line with striking workers is pretty damn progressive

It’s a Bernie Sanders move, for sure. Can Biden pull it off while still motivating centrists to get out the vote? Or is it a freebie, given that many will be motivated to vote against Trump and his craziness.

Polling shows that support for unions has gone up.  Over a majority of people so Biden is on the right side of public opinion.

I don't have to even fully agree with the unions to see what has happened since the pandemic is non-sense. The US tax payer gave companies over a trillion dollars and in turn they increased their profit by record margins, increased their prices on struggling Americans, and have been one of the prime movers of inflation.

Setting a standard of paying your workers in-line with increased productivity is not only the moral thing to do but it makes sense economically as well. The GOP frames it as a government edict, when it couldn't be further from the truth. The US tax payer is on the hook for trillions of dollars in direct subsidies, a bailout, and then direct payments during Covid. The US government can't account for 200 billion dollars they gave to corporations.
