This country... can't even mourn an American Icon without fighting over her body and her seat. We are pathetic.

The ACA is the Republican health bill from the 90s. It's Mitt Romney's Republican law from Massachusetts in the early 00s.    Yet when Obama brought up the same law, suddenly it became a "go

@TennesseeTuxedo   Hey Tux.  She's really dead this time.

How shitty is it that McConnell didn't wait till tomorrow to issue an official statement saying he will hold a vote? In some ways he's far worse than Trump and his impact may be felt for much longer due his work stacking the judiciary branch.

He had it typed up while her body was still warm.

David Gergen just said he thinks this favors Biden and will further drive liberal turnout during the election. That could further embolden McConnel to push a nominee through.

Gergen is one of the smarter/experienced ones.

I think this will be wild on Trump.   They might not have the votes now, so no need to name one.

If President Trump names one, then that takes at minimum a week away from Trump trying to campaign on any message to gain support and possibly two, or even more if a crazy/extreme person because news review of the person will be the main focus.  That hurts him.

If he does not name one, combined with him being a court Jester and an attention addict, he will probably make a joke of it.  He will likely say stupid stuff at rallies to grab attention - example: "you know what.....I think I'll nominate Rush Limbaugh....Justice Rush...That will get em."    That will make him look even more unpresidential, hurting him.

More Sanders voters voted for Clinton than Clinton supporters voted for Obama. This is such a non-factual argument.

Put aside your bias for a second.

Because racism is not limited to one party.

With a tip of the cap to Andrzej Sapkowski, a noble spirit may never want to chose the lessor or two evils, but often events outside your control force that choice upon you.  And without a decision fate may very well choice the greater evil of the two.

I'm not surprised at all. He is a master at what he does and he has no scruples. Its a dangerous combination. He'll be revered by Conservatives for decades.

Can this be confirmed?

On September 4, 2018, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey (R) announced that he would appoint former U.S. Sen. Jon Kyl (R) to replace McCain. Ducey's office said Kyl would serve through at least the end of 2018 and that Ducey would appoint another replacement if Kyl chose to step down at that point.[1] Kyl said he would not run for the seat in the 2020 special election.[4]

On December 18, 2018, Ducey announced the appointment of Rep. Martha McSally (R) to the U.S. Senate to replace Kyl who resigned from the seat on December 31, 2018.[5] McSally is running in the election and won the August 4 Republican primary. Mark Kelly won the Democratic primary.

McSally will serve until the special election winner takes office after state election officials certify the election results. The next election to this seat will be for a full six-year term, and will take place on November 8, 2022.
