Bevin was unpopular but Trump had a rally the night before the election. VA flipped the state legislature and the MI gov race was very close, where Trump won by 16%. The turn out in KY was also very large.

Moscow Mitch is also likely nervous. He currently has a 36% approval rating.

Check with @Little Earl and see what has happened in the Virginia legislature since Trump became president.

The orange dummy just went there and campaigned    lol

It's not just Va. and Ky.  Read up on what happened in the suburbs of Philly.  The suburbs everywhere are trending blue.  It started in 2018 and last night was just more of the same.

At a pre-election rally on Monday, Trump said the following:   "Here's the story," Trump told thousand of supporters ahead of Tuesday's election. "If you win, they are going to make it like,

Wasn't he also really unpopular with the teachers union?  I thought I read that somewhere.

Yes. The teachers were on a strike when a boy accidentally shot a 7 year old girl. The POS blamed the teachers not being in school for the shooting.

Dems successfully flipped the House and senate in VA. We also have a Dem Gov for the next 2 years. Expect the GOP gerrymandering and votor suppression that has happened the last 25 years to end. This is HUGE for a state that votes blue in presidential elections but has been under Red leadership for decades

He has to be looking for a lifeline at this point.  I think the problem is that he sees that if he turns on Trump, it gets worse. Its admitting fault.  He could be right.  He's in quicksand. Lets just hope it all continues.

Good article here explaining what happened. Bevin picked way too many dumb fights and said ridiculous things about teachers, which caused even lifelong conservatives to refuse to vote for him.

From 1971-2003, KY had a Dem governor. Then they had another one, Steve Beshear (Andy's father), from 2007 to 2015.

He's also the only republican who tied himself directly to Trump with a rally on the next to last day and running ads about impeachment.  Both are true.

C'mon @Jonboy most of the southern states had Democrat Governors in the 70s and 80s. Different time.

He said KY has been under red leadership for decades, which is factually incorrect.

Edit: Looks like he was referring to VA not KY.
