Many Washington correspondents on twitter are reporting that McCain said he is a no today.   The Hill has confirmed it also.  If true bill is dead pretty much.   http://thehill.com

Some reporters are stating it was already in the bill with same intentions from the start.   Same thing was tried in June and she actually publicly said they were trying to buy her vote.  She is supposedly very principled.  If so, this could lock in her as a no versus being seen as being bought-out.

Leadership sometimes requires not just doing what's in your self-interest -- essentially the antithesis of Trump's belligerent UNations rant.

@people in Tennessee

Now would be a great time to call Sen Alexander to tell him to get back on a bipartisan fix.  It is his committee that would handle it and he was working on it when Senate leadership order him to stop during this detour.

Word is they might try to bundle ACA repeal and replace with tax reform in a reconciliation bill for next fiscal year.

Sounds like a great way to get neither.

I wouldnt mind true tax reform if it was revenue neutral. Thing is the GOP just wants tax cuts. Calling it tax reform is disingenuous.

Too bad they won’t just work on the bipartisan bill (Murray-Alexander?).

Trump ran as a fucking deal maker! Shouldn’t he try to, ya know, make some deals?

Let this thing implode. Once the money runs out, it is finished.

Go for it.  At the point people realized they could get insurance and not have to worry if they got sick in order to maintain it, it was over.  When we return to the free market system, in which people will have to worry about bankruptcy or health, you will know the backlash.  In a fit of irony, it is people like you that have zero clue about the working middle class concerns about their healthcare.

While Republicans have put all effort into this over last two weeks, people are dying in Puerto Rico hospitals that have run out of diesel to keep electrical generators running.  While we should care no matter their citizenry, they are American citizens and are dying in American hospitals.

Supreme Court justice: check,... Anything else from the previously shackled Repubs now controlling our government?

As much as people voted down an uninspiring Hillary, they also voted to break free from the gridlock and were hopeful to have a single party in control and, if needed, to hold them accountable. It's been 9 months without any substantive legislation wins marked by a capstone of a 3x failure of a 7 year promise that was supposed to be done in January. "No one knew healthcare was this complicated" and "we're not going to own it" are the takeaways from our leader.

No spin, this is ganked.
