The other teams around us in draft position don't have a dying need for the qb (Cleveland is giving Manziel until the end of the season to prove it), I guess maybe NO and DAL but they are drafting in the lower half of the top 10. Everyone knew the Titans needed tackle help in the offseason. His answer? Sign Byron Bell and draft a guard to play tackle. We also used a 4th round pick on a fullback that rarely plays. I'm actually completely on board with that if there is a stud LT available in this years draft. Book end tackles is a thing of beauty and while Lewan isn't the all star LT we thought he might be, he would have to be one of the best RTs in football. Depending on who you talk to, we either have 2-3 solid pieces to build upon...or none. I'm confident in Lewan, but I wouldn't be disappointed if the moved him to RT. If Tunsil is as good as advertised, he could be a day 1 starter at LT. Or if you like Lewan there better, that's fine too. The point is, Lewan is really the only "building block" we have in my eyes. Warmack will probably be around, but we'll almost certainly see new starters at LG, C, and RT. Yet again, we'll need to look to the draft and free agency here. I wouldn't hate a signing like Russell Okung. He's younger than I expected and would probably be able to move over to RT and extend his career even more. S- Griffin has been an up and down player for years. I like him as a leader and a person, but it's just time to move on. I think you look to draft a S and let them compete with Stafford. If the Chiefs are seriously dumb enough to let Eric Berry walk, however, then you break the bank to get him. It's so rare for a player of his age and talent to come available. But the Chiefs have cap problems and will have to decide between Hali, Johnson, Houston, and Berry. I think they keep Berry, but who knows. Eric Weddle is probably going to be available, but he'll command a monster deal. Not sure it's worth it on Weddle, but some may feel differently. I admittedly haven't watched him as much as I've seen Berry. All in all...I'm still working out which areas I want them to target first and where. Today if you forced me to pick the most important, I say WR with the OL mess very close behind. Keep your eye on Rodney McLeod the FS from STL... Kid is a rising star... Also the Chiefs just gave a large contract to Ron Parker at FS, because they didn't know if/when Berry would come back... Which could force their hand into letting Berry hit FA... Texans move Watt all over the place. Safeties blitz. Corners blitz. It's wild and hairy out there. Titans should draft 4 OL and 3 WRs. Running backs aren't overly impressive but the failures of the OL have magnified that. Maybe a FA running back to soothe the aching hearts of Titan fans. The rams need a QB bad, and they have 2 second round picks. I'm not sure of their draft position though.
