If they undergo a youth movement, which they will, then they'll have plenty of cap space to grab someone like Fitzgerald if he gets cut by the Cardinals (at $16M with a $8M bonus in March, I would be shocked if they don't). It would be a smart idea, I don't care much about his age or injuries. He knows the offense and could be a positive and consistent influence. Lol, this is like when old school SMU guys claimed they were pretty much taking a pay cut by leaving SMU and joining the NFL. This also makes me wonder what it would take to pull Cam Cameron away from LSU? Mett clearly loves the guy (quotes him all the time) and he seems to be the Mett whisperer. I've been vocal in my displeasure with Whisenhunt this year but you can't ask for more out of ZM. He's clearly been handled well. God help us if we draft one in the 1st or sign a FA. I doubt it but teams do stupid shit with QB's all the time. Mike Glennon looked good as a rookie so loser Lovie Smith promptly signs a middling veteran & now they go back & forth with no answers. This stuff happens all the time. It's obvious they were doing a lot of work with him preparing him to start. Maybe from day one, but definitely after Jake's first injury. Just like we saw all the potential in Mett in preseason and hope they would get him ready, I am positive they know what they have now. We have some passing stats and comparisons. They have film, probably stats we never heard of and eyes on him every day. The Titans have resources to get the right players in place to make this work. They have to get the running game going. Mett has such a big arm & proclivity for the deep ball, and is a very natural deep thrower, that I think he'd really do a lot of damage in the power sets using PA. My hope is the OL gets it's shit together next year & TT is the inline TE we thought we were getting this year. Hopefully we can use more 2 TE sets, run more, and do more PA. I've seen a decent amount of the Eagles over the last 2 years & they do that shotgun, PA deep ball & it works so well for Foles. I'm right there with you, the last 2 weeks have been eye opening, we've seen throws we've only seen on Sportscenter, from other teams. This is as fired up as I've been in awhile.
