  1. Vrabel actually had success bringing in a bunch of his guys on defense last year. They were talking about it on NFL Sirius this afternoon. At camp, just a few days in, all these 'new' Patriots were acting like they all knew the scheme and had been there for years. There IS value in having that. NE's defense last year shows it. In our case, having two great DTs is going to be a lot of fun to watch. Hopefully, Femi will be ready to play, because we need outside guys to take advantage of that. But it should be easier with those DTs. I'm not sure why all of you are worried about ILB. If we are going to 4-3, Gray is great there. Barton can play it. So could Williams. I guess the question is who will be weak and strong. I think Williams should be weak, personally. But if they draft Reese or Styles, then, it just depends on where they want to put that guy. I still think we'll draft Tate or Love at this point, but if they like one of these edge guys, I'm fine with it. Shit, are we over 100 pages of just saying the same thing over and over? I had to skip 10 of these pages because some of you just need have sex already and get it all out. And yes, I mean with each other. Swap wives. Something. Damn.
  2. I think we take Tate at 4, if Bailey isn't there. I also think that people around here don't appreciate that Tate is already a GREAT route runner, which is something Ward could really use. I'm fine with Love, if that's the pick. I'm fine with Bain for that matter. But I think it will be Tate.
  3. True, but it's OK to remind everyone that Wilt is the GOAT. He had sex with 100 women that same night, as I recall. My mom was one of them.
  4. I'm fine with grabbing a rookie in round 3 or 4. That's good value for RBs in this year's draft (which has a FAST group). I just think Pollard has lost a step, and as others have noted, he's not great at banging up the middle. I like a guy who can bang it up the middle. I'm going to say bang it up the middle a lot this year, but I'll stop for now. Love at 4 is a bit rich for me, but I'm not going to lie. He'd be a great back to grow with Ward, and he has receiving upside. So I wouldn't hate it, especially if we can trade down a bit first and still do it. But even at 4, I'd be OK with it. But I do think we can get value in 3 or 4. Kalel Mullings hasn't shown anything yet, and Spears is interesting, but not an every down back, IMO.
  5. I still don't like our RB and WR groups, but there's the draft yet to come. Funny. Part of me wants Tate or Love, but I'm still leaning Bain or Bailey (whichever is still there when we pick).
  6. Didn't the Jags give a DE like 40 mill a year today? I don't see why Hendrickson would take less than that. Some of these contracts are getting silly.
  7. This team had more holes than a party at @woolfolksunclesuncle 's house, and it filled them at about the same rate too. Now, we have to wait to see how well they fit (another common theme at those parties...). We can speculate all we want. Of the signings, the only one I love is JFM. We needed more DL help. The others COULD be good. I like that we got CB help. We desperately needed it, and we aren't picking one in the first. We are now able to pick the top Edge or WR on our board. I think this also made Love a possibility, and I have to admit that I'd be very interested in seeing Love and Ward together.
  8. Pretty sure that guy just had sex with me, and I didn't know it.
  9. Tate would be a good pick at 4, but an even better one if we traded down a few spots and still got him. He would immediately give Ward a top WR. Forget his 40 time. Didn't he have the most big plays of any WR this year? Tate was the big play guy for OSU, a team filled with big plays. The fact that he went to OSU isn't overhyping him. OSU WRs tend to do well in recent years. He runs GREAT routes. He'll start day one. He could easily top 1k yards as a rookie. What more could you want? Combine numbers matter, but overemphasis on them is how you end up with Tyrone Calico, and how people like AJ Brown fall to the second round. This guy is a legit playmaker.
  10. Tate....and the others are outside the top 10 for me.
  11. I ABSOLUTELY understand why some people would like Bailey as the top Edge guy, or even Faulk. But for me, it's Bain. It's been Bain, and he's done nothing but confirm it all year long. I LOVE his energy. He's a killer out there, and putting him next to Simmons would be incredible. Bailey and Reese are both great players, and I'd be fine with either one of them. But Bain above all right now for me.
  12. Winston could be that good, based on his college tape. As a rookie he flashed, but once the game slows down? He can be all pro. In any case, safety is so far down our list of needs that at best, we might draft one in the third again,, if he just falls too far (a la Winston). In the first and second rounds? We pretty much have to go edge, WR, and OL. A GREAT LB like Arvell would work as well, because he can rush the passer and play more traditional roles. But there's no way Downs goes at 4 (to us). He's a GREAT player, but the value just isn't there. Now, if we trade down, I still don't think we pick Downs in the top 10, but at 10, it would at least be hard to pass on him just because of value. But if we trade down that far, I think we are grabbing one of the three top edge guys or the top two WRs. Right now, there really are THREE Edge guys that I have about even. I'd be happy to get any one of them.
  13. That was actually unhinged, and I think even OMan was a bit baffled by it. I mean, online trolling is one thing, but taking it to offline stalking is way too far. As for Vrabel, this is just what being a meathead is. You are a bully. Bullies love crowing when they win. They hate losing and will not be gracious about it. OTOH, you don't want your coach wearing a damn Colts jersey. That's too far the other direction. Saleh seems like the good balance. Masculine, ready to kick Cohen's ass if needed, but not a bully. Vrabel is exactly the type of person to say he'll cut 6 inches off and still have 6 inches left. Or make a movie from the 70s into a team motto.
  14. Isn't the Warriors nearly 50 years old? Vrabel as relevant as my grandpa...he died a few years back.
  15. There are some edge guys that might be there at pick 35. What if we get Bain or Bailey at 4 (whoever they think is best) and then someone like Parker or Moore at 35? Let's just go ALL in at edge.
  16. I like Tate a lot, but I am starting to agree with this. IF we trade down, OK...but not at 4, or even in the top 8 or so. We almost have to get an edge, and we will be in a great place to get one.
  17. Me too. I think he's a Dike type, with a higher floor. In other words, fast shifty, but productive (in a way Dike wasn't in college). I like him a LOT
  18. I wanted Stefanski, but that's OK. I think we still have some good options out there. Saleh, yes. McDaniels yeah....McDermott? IDK....Nagy? Meh...whatever. But the point is that there are a few out there that are still good hires. The problem is that a lot of good teams are now looking. I mean that Bills job is SWEET right now.
  19. Patriots will face a GREAT defense, but not better than the one they just beat. All they gotta do is stop a backup QB. All setting up for Vrabel to face the Rams in the SB and finally get revenge for our losing to the Rams with McNair and...oh, wait. He's not our coach anymore, huh? I get why we moved on from Vrabel, but damn did he have a dearth of talent here. We traded away our best offensive player for a first round scrub. He still almost got us there, only to have Tanny throw INTs all day long. Now he has a defense that can keep him in any game, and an offense that scores enough to help that defense out. He might win it all this year.
  20. Baltimore has more talent than we do, but it's aging in key areas. They are also in a win now mode, which isn't always a good thing. They just fired a very good HC because he didn't get them to the playoffs. Anyone going there has to not only make the playoffs, but win at LEAST one playoff game (probably two) THIS Year. That's the expectation. Now, NFL coaches are confident, but the Titans give you a lot more room to breathe and build your own team. You will have cap space, a high draft pick, a QB already in place. If you want to prove that you can take a team from nothing to something, we are the ideal for that right now.
  21. I agree with Iowa. Some of those OL look really good. I think they will have to move positions, but we could use an interior OL.
  22. I'm biased as a Vandy fan, but Eli Stowers would be an interesting pick. Helm can block. Stowers is too small for that role in the NFL (or even in college!). However, he has elite receiving ability as a TE. Put him in a two TE set, with Helm blocking or block/release, and Stowers going up the seam? Could be dangerous.
