Even though people want to claim Dianna deserves to lose her job because of journalism, there's absolutely no integrity or journalistic standard with NFL insiders ... which is partly why all of them are staying the hell away from this story. We've already discussed the Mr Editor stuff with Shefter, which is laughable for a journalist. Jeff Pearlman is now going in on Glazer ... not that anyone cares because he's a bro.

“I think Dianna Russini shouldn’t work anymore in this business, I do. I think it’s bullsh*t,” Pearlman said. “But, man, do we make allowances for men. We make so many allowances for men. Jay Glazer is the perfect example. You know why Jay Glazer isn’t having sex with the athletes? Because he’s a heterosexual male and he covers men, otherwise, he’s doing anything but. ‘Hey, come to my BBQ. Hey, let me work you out. Hey, you’re my buddy. Hey, let’s hang out. Hey, tell me stuff, it’s OK.’ Like, that’s access journalism 101. That’s exchanging for exchanging. That’s exactly what he does.

There’s no excusing Dianna Russini. It’s a bullsh*t move. She deserves to lose her job,” Pearlman continued. “It’s just weird how we’re OK because it’s men being pals with men kind of thing. Like Jay Glazer, honestly, people now make allowances; they say, ‘Well, he’s not a reporter. He’s a fact-finder…’ But it’s the same bullsh*t. It’s the exact same bullsh*t. You’re building intimate relationships with sources, sources are giving you information, and in exchange for that intimate relationship, you will protect them. What’s different besides you’re not having your dick in someone’s hand? What’s the difference?"

https://awfulannouncing.com/nfl/jeff-pearlman-jay-glazer-free-pass-intimate-relationships-sources.html

Is hanging out and forming long term, personal relationships with sources the same as sex? Nope, sex is a step beyond. Are teams and individuals using insiders to promote narratives all the time? Yes, tons of manipulation and nonsense out there. Are these male "journalists" like Russini constantly publishing favorable stuff for buddies? Yes. Is it a transactional business? Obviously.

The "she's supposed to be a journalist" line is just a pretense to hide behind.

She’s sucking his dick but that guys hanging out with people at a BBQ! Basically the same thing! Can’t believe the double standards!!

What a bunch of grievance politics bullshit.

This is why the majority of the country even those on the left, hate the extreme left. There is a major difference between what Glazer and others including female sports insiders and what Russini did. The fact we can't admit that without the ultra left making it about gender is a perfect example of it. Get a fucking grip and call a spade a spade.

What we all predicted lol

By the way, someone made a very deliberate decision to drop this on draft day.

What a coward, doesn’t she know Jamal knows she’s innocent?

The quotes in the post, as well as the comments afterwards, directly admit that. Almost verbatim. Seriously? Dead fucking serious right now - what a moronic response this is.

But, sure, the guy who keeps getting called out by others for saying it's totally fine for Dianna to take all the blame and who keeps pretending there's anything remotely resembling journalistic integrity for NFL insiders isn't going to like that post and he's going to lie to himself or just not read what was actually stated. Zero people would have expected anything but this sort of response from you.

Whatever it takes to make yourself feel good, right? Doesn't matter if it's what was said. Doesn't matter if it's accurate. You just need to feel good.

What an intellectually dishonest loser.

Go ahead and read that post - for the first time - show any form of reading comprehension and get back to me before I bother.

Table stakes for morons.

Correct. But if you recognize that it's a step beyond and then say her real problem is journalistic integrity and make posts about journalism 101, then you're just full of shit.

Yes and no. None of them have integrity and they cease being journalists when they start doing favors, racing to be the first to write one sentence about rumors. and stop investigating for truth.

But there's also clearly a worse action.

So no, I don't mind her being called out for it worse than others or being the face of the problem. It IS worse. It's also a necessary sacrifice for them to continue their jobs, alerts the world to the issue, and it shows where one true line is.

They wont do it because large market teams are the ones that benefit most often from stuff like this... but if some of these smaller teams had the balls to sue and defend themselves over tampering/manipulation, we'd get actual rules put in place and integrity could be back in the table.

Mad? No.

Absolutely dead tired of being silent while people full of grievances claim everybody else has grievances? Yes.

Oh no! Somebody's talking about sexism and double standards! Time to defend that fragile ego by claiming everybody else only ever wants to complain.

Take your fragile ego masquerading as masculinity and go fuck off somewhere, you dumb bitch. I'm just so sick of this bullshit in America. Just absolutely fucking done with it. You embarrass me as a man and an American. Just shut the fuck up already.

Nah, I think I’ll keep calling your stupidity and virtue signaling bullshit out.

Deal with it.

Agreed - that's exactly what they all do, which is half of the point.

Agreed. But what are you (anyone, whoever) calling out? Journalistic integrity? If that's what you're saying then you're full of shit (the other half of the point).

People don't want sex involved and that's a good idea, partly because it's a step beyond, but mostly because that's an open door to abuse and intimidation that needs to be stamped out entirely. If that was where people limited it and what they professed to believe, it wouldn't really be an issue.

Instead, people keep pretending that journalistic integrity is the real issue because it gets messy (though not necessarily wrong) as soon as you start talking sex (because it's so parallel to gender).

Simple and wrong is easier to argue than messy and right ... assuming you don't mind being wrong.

I'm not sure I really follow this part.

I think we agree there's no way you have NFL insiders without the transactional nature of the business. If you're calling that a sacrifice, I think that's a bit of a weird wording but I think it mostly amounts to the same thing. I don't think there's any virtue in it and that's what sacrifice suggests to me. I just call it practicality on their part and on the part of anyone actually paying attention or attempting to discuss without nonsense rationale.

The NFL and insiders want to protect what they have. The idea of virtuous teams taking a stand against their own shelf and cutting down on general tampering / manipulation to return integrity to the table for journalists seems like a pipe dream to me. I'd rather discuss what is than deal in unrealistic stuff like that.

It's a deal then. I'll keep reminding you what a soft, ignorant loser you are and you can keep complaining that I have virtues.

This. Does misogyny exist out there? Hell yes and it should be called out.

This over the top stuff where even the legitimate stuff is framed as misogynistic is just so disingenuous and deserves to be called out.

How sad to be a white man. Always the burden and scapegoat for everything. The real victims.

How sad to be a moderate Democrat. Always burdened by association with the only people they hate more than Republicans - LIBRULS!

At least both of you always have a scapegoat for everything. That's the only silver lining.

You just bounce around with accusations and insults without even a real argument because that is the argument to people like you and you’re too dumb to even get it. It’s hilarious and predictable and sad all at the same time.
