I didn't see this numbers before.  They are pretty insane.  If he was good at football, he'd be a top 5 pick.

You can really see how good of an indicator of success that collegiate production is.  Nearly all of the players on the right side of the graph are good/great, while I didn't see any on the left who worked out.

It's almost like college production matters! Who would have thought?!

It definitely can be an indicator of NFL success and I think you want as many indicators as possible instead of questions. I'm not opposed to taking a guy with traits and no production, but that's a day 3 pick. You can take swings there.

The absolute 100th percent outcome is Antonio Gates. He never played football in college. George Kittle also comes to mind. Never caught a lot of balls in college. He was misused as a blocking TE, but he tested well at the combine. Sometime there's context (injury, misuse, etc) for a guy who is very athletic but doesn't produce in college.

Context matters. Some guys who produce in college just don't translate well into the NFL game.

PFF once stated that there was a really strong correlation between collegiate and NFL pass rushing production.  I'm not sure if it's still true, but then (this was like 2018) nearly all elite NFL pass rushers were elite in college.  It was their argument against Bradley Chubb being drafted so high, because he was simply "good" in college and likely wouldn't be more than that.  Seems like they had a point.
