EC34
I imagine that both Edmunds and Okereke are upgrades from Barton who won't cost us money if we let him go. Doesn't save us much either. Just not sure why we would pay him and a free agent linebacker with Gray locked in at one spot and Williams seemingly a better fit in this defense. They may also want to draft a linebacker on day 2 or 3.
EC34
It's a good draft for that (others say). I wonder if the opportunity of Edmunds and Okoreke makes a lower import position group get immediate attention?

Not a lot of great options but Daboll must have a guy he likes. Draft QB late to develop into a backup? RB – Tony Pollard, Kalel Mullings, Tyjae Spears Re-sign Julius Chestnut cheap or just let him walk Draft Love or keep Pollard WR – Calvin Ridley, Chimere Dike, Elic Ayomanor, Xavier Restrepo Sign Jauan Jennings, who can start at a reasonable price tag Keep Ridley for 1 more year Draft a WR on day 2 (plenty of Z WRs are available) Re-sign Proche to a minimum deal Tender Oliver as EFRA TE - Gunnar Helm, David Martin-Robinson Let Chig go Sign Cole Kmet (assuming Bears cut him) or some other starter (Njoku, Likely, Otton, Kollar, Knox, Jonnu) Sign blocking TE? Draft a TE? OL – Dan Moore, Peter Skoronski, JC Latham, Jackson Slater, Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson, Garrett Dellinger Sign starting C, RG Re-sign Corey Levin, Oli Udoh, Blake Hance cheap? Need to sign at least 1 veteran backup. Draft LT in middle rounds to develop Draft iOL on day 3 to develop? DL – Jeffery Simmons, CJ Ravenell Sign John Franklin Myers or Logan Hall Re-sign James Lynch to a minimum deal Sign cheap veteran depth Draft DT for depth Edge – Jermaine Johnson, Oluwafemi Oladejo, Ali Gaye, Truman Jones Sign 2nd tier starting edge Draft depth Re-sign Jihad Ward or other vet depth LB – Cedric Gray, Cody Barton, James Williams, Dorian Mausi Replace Barton with Bobby Okereke, Tremaine Edmunds, or Devin Lloyd Tender Anfernee Orji as EFRA Sign veteran depth Draft LB on day 3? CB – L’Jarius Sneed, Marcus Harris, Micah Robinson Cut Sneed Let Jalyn Armour-Davis and Samuel Womack walk Re-sign Darrell Baker (may not fit the defense) or other veteran depth Sign 1 starting CB (Watson, Taylor, etc) Draft CB on day 2, 3 Safety – Amani Hooker, Kevin Winston Re-sign Mike Brown to a cheap deal Draft backup on day 3 or draft S in middle rounds to replace Hooker in future Sign veteran depth 3 SPECIAL TEAMS Re-sign Morgan Cox Replace Johnny Hekker Re-sign Joey Slye or sign some other K They can do a camp competition for both K and P for all I care Pretty similar. I think they sign Robinson. I'm curious about Pierce but he's probably too expensive for what he does. I'd love it if they got Cole Kmet. Only main differences is I wouldn't be in a hurry to trade Levis unless it was a good deal (that they probably won't get) and I don't care anything about Proche. I think the 3 picks after Love will be CB, Edge and WR but I make no bets on the order... outside chance of an athletic TE to develop and replace Chig but if they sign someone like Kmet that's unlikely. Keep Levis as insurance in case Cam's shoulder isn't as healed as hoped and to hopefully increase his trade value. RB – Tony Pollard, Kalel Mullings, Tyjae Spears, Julius Chestnut --- Cut Pollard, let Chestnut walk. Draft replacement with either Jadarian Price, Mike Washington, or Nick Singleton. WR – Calvin Ridley, Chimere Dike, Elic Ayomanor, Xavier Restrepo --- Cut Ridley. Sign Robinson (and Doubs). Draft Tate. Tender Oliver. TE - Gunnar Helm, David Martin-Robinson --- Sign Jonnu Smith. Draft Will Kacmarek OL – Dan Moore, Peter Skoronski, JC Latham, Jackson Slater, Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson, Garrett Dellinger --- Sign a center, whoever. Draft an OG. Keylan Rutledge? DL – Jeffery Simmons, CJ Ravenell --- Sign John Franklin Myers. Draft a DT, maybe two. Lee Hunter? Gracen Halton? Kaleb Proctor? Zane Durant? Take your pick. Edge – Jermaine Johnson, Oluwafemi Oladejo, Ali Gaye, Truman Jones --- Sign Oweh. Draft edge on day 2. Zion Young, Malachi Lawrence or Dani Dennis-Sutton. LB – Cedric Gray, Cody Barton, James Williams, Dorian Mausi --- Cut Barton. Sign Lloyd. Draft LB on day 2 or 3. Harold Perkins? Taurean York? CB – L’Jarius Sneed, Marcus Harris, Micah Robinson --- Fire Sneed into the sun. Sign a Tariq Woolen and Jaylen Watson . Draft day 3 cb, either Ephesians Prysock or Tacario Davis. Or both... would hate to break up that set of tallboys. Safety – Amani Hooker, Kevin Winston --- Draft a guy day 3. Bud Clark, Zakee Wheatley? Co-Sign on allmost all of this.. I just don‘t like Tate at 4#, give me Bain or Love.. and instead of Woolen get Alontae Taylor.. before I forget hopefully welcome back Jonnu and Kevin Byard.. I would love this scenario
Popular Post Jamalisms
My off-season plan is to mostly ignore the circle jerk of knowledge-free draft nerds grading pretend drafts based on somebody else's rankings, which were probably built off somebody else's rankings, which were probably built off previous ranking iterations in a chain of "updates" dating back to before the season last year. I'll probably join in as we approach the draft and rankings shift towards leaks and impressions of what the teams actually think. Then I'll time out again until the real season prep starts up.
