If knowledgeable fans of other teams had read this board 20' or 21' they would think we were in a different dimension, reality be damned. We had a MVP RB being touted in premier sports coverage as 2021 MVP. About the highest honor a RB can receive because the NFL MVP goes to QBs. But, some people who carry nearly as much weight here as I do called our MVP RB an anchor holding Ryan Tannehill back by forcing him into a run-centric offense. Just for good measure they tossed our HC under the bus as he was compiling his record to win HCOY 2021, an accomplishment he repeated again in 2025. Sadly, our true hero says he wants to retire a Raven and enter the HOF as one. Why?

Derrick Henry had 937 yards and one of his lowest yards per carry of his career in 2021. He got hurt and the Titans run game stayed virtually the same. He got hurt and the Titans pass game stayed virtually the same with a rookie QB starting. Derrick Henry had as many pass TDs as Tannehill for most of that season. Yet you and several others held out hope and belief that a playoff bound team would pick up Tannehill to lead them to the promised land even up to last season. Reality be damned! I don't know if you remember the Seattle game. OMG! I'm done. This isn't even worth discussing if you just overlook facts. Derrick Henry is a NFL GREAT!! titanruss
Justafan
Tannehill played great for the Titans and Derrick Henry was a great player. One of the best RBs ever and he absolutely took over some games. His playoff performance against the Ravens will go down as one of my greatest Titans memories. Tannehill’s heroics against the Chiefs in 2019 and then dominating the Jags and taking back the division crown in 2020 was incredible. I don’t know why we have to fight over third down metrics and constantly criticize players worst moments instead of appreciating how magical that era was for a couple of years. When everything was working that team was SO much fun to watch.

When everything was working that team was SO much fun to watch. THIS^^^ Unfortunately, there is a dwindling group of posters who refuse to acknowledge a Titans great. Henry is also a NFL great. Comparing the two. Who among us didn't fall in love with Tannehill in 2019? RT was da shit. How long? How long had it been since we had a QB throwing beautiful, catchable balls all over the field. Catchable balls. Tanny was a for real NFL QB. JRob swindled Miami out of a QB for us. He drafted Henry after passing him up twice(?). I imagine teams figured he didn't have much left. JRob got us a big bad boy named Jeff. Talked the owner into letting him take him. Byard-elite NFL safety. Adoree returning punts. Davis catching balls and blocking way downfield to help other players get yac. Big Jack. Lewan. Player after player. We played like a loaded team. So many people were involved, it's hard to credit them all. JRob hired a young coach everyone said would be one of the best. At the same time he hired ML considered one of the best coaches in the NFL. Dean Pees. Arthur Smith. That team and that coaching staff was one of the best in the NFL. BUT. There was then, now and as long as they have professional football players a few that are just special. A player who is an unusual great. Anyone who loves the game and fails to see greatness on their own team leaves me dumbfounded. Especially when led by one of my main guys from wayback. Google is your friend. Google chances to make HOF. Put Ryan's name, then Derrick's name. I don't know why I even bother. I don't shit on players. Isaiah and a few others are exceptions. In your words "everything was working that team was SO much fun to watch" But here we are. Vrabel, JRob, Derrick don't deserve the credit they earned. Run down da King? That dog just don't hunt.
