He could take them if they had a higher role. He respected their Org not to make a fuss... they would gladly take from his staff if a DC left here to go there to be a HC. This is supposedly what caused all the issues with BB & Eric Mangini back in the day. There was apparently some staff members that were off limits & Mangini recruited them. Well that & the fact that he went to the Jets. Belichick was furious at that & told him if he passed he’d make sure he got a head job the next year was is absolutely ridiculous.
