And its not just Trump, sitting Senators are also perpetuating this lie. And the worst part about it is, if they just shut up about it, the guy gets off no questions asked. Law Enforcement officers simply have to claim they were in fear for their safety and used deadly force to protect themselves. Its an extremely low bar to hit from a law standpoint because its solely based on the officer's state of mind which is near impossible to refute. While he clearly overreacted, legally he is well within his rights to fire into that car when she tried to drive off and he was in the way. Legally though, he can just claim he was in fear for his life. The car was close enough and he was in the path. I think its bullshit but we set this precedent long ago. At the same time, if you're going to be observing a rogue secret police force and put yourself in that place, you can't under any circumstances give them any reason to do this because obviously they will do something like this willingly and will get away with it too. Your life will be given for nothing. On the surface freaking out because a masked gunman is trying to unlock your locked car is understandable, but in that context you know who they are and what they do, and in a weird way being assaulted or accosted by them on camera is probably more damaging to them than being killed by them on camera because now the full force of the lie machine will swing in, as we've already seen. They exited the truck, she asked "what's going on". One of them appears to say, "Stay in car" while the other said, "get out of the car". All the little dick authoritarian thugs had to do was wave her on. Or approach the car and ask what was going on. But no, thugs are what they are, and they will behave like it. It sure looks like she was trying to turn around to me without seeing any earlier video. I don't believe a word from ICE or the administration. They are sub-human.
