How are the titans going to deal with your little situation? We only pay cam 9, 11, 13, 15.5 mil in his first 4 years.

 

You act like if we dont spend our 100mil in cap space next year the nfl is going to cut borgo or brinkers balls off lol. 

Most of your options for the extra money are from the fantasy land that these high-quality players are just sitting out there waiting for an offer from the Titans.

Ok - so what draft capital or quality player are you going to give in order to acquire the expensive player?  This Front Office is attempting to acquire MORE draft picks, not deal them.  The meta on this site is that there are too many holes to fill that one big name player (ex:  Parsons) won't help.

This is a hypothetical where a team is "overpaying" an average QB.  You are strictly against overpaying an average QB.  I'm arguing that there are situations where it makes sense.  

 

Every year fans act like saving money is more important than fielding a team with a shot at the playoffs or beyond.  Fans act like players don't have a choice in which team they sign with during Free Agency.

The Cam part is analogous to this discussion because having a qb on a cheap deal be it a rookie or a vet still leaves you with a exess of cash to spend elseware. You have to spend the money on something in both situations.

 

Back to the overpay part. Idk why you keep insisting on paying guys in free agency above their value. I am saying instead of going on and getting a few bargin bin vet minimum players you could not get a few 3-5mil dollar decent free agents. Or you could step up from looking at an Algiers to a Hall level player with that extra money. 

 

Who would I resign? Currently the only big long term deal is skronski, but like I said, you could front load his deal so that when cam, winston, gray, dike and hopefully femi all need a new deal in 2 or 3 years skronski is now playing on an extreamly cheap deal because you moved the cash up front allowing you to keep as many as possible. 

 

As for a trade, we are not every team. There are teams every year that would benefit at the trade deadline from having some extra crash to spend on a get over the hump trade.

I assume this means you want to target the mid tier guys instead of the “top” guy at the position .  Like CB, very few #1 CB hit the market .  Yet 2-3 guys always hit it big and get close to that .  The guys a tier below that are always the better value guys.

 

As much as I like Jalean Phillips, some team is gonna overpay him and we’d be better off with Odafe Oweh or Kwitty Paye or  someone like that.

It’s just Baker, Harris, Micah Robinson, and Kaiir Elam on the roster, plus a couple of CB on PS.

It’s just Baker, Harris, Micah Robinson, and Kaiir Elam on the roster, plus a couple of CB on PS.

 

Would assume the starting CB trio will be Baker/Harris/Robinson no idea whether its Robinson or Harris starting outside opposite Baker.

Ya, im not advocating going ham on FA acquisitions for the sake of it. If you have the cash to spend target those middle to upper middle tier guys. I dont want to speend big just because i have the cash. 

 

In a dream scenario that cash you save would go to securing your own players, but since creeping keeps pushing it as a titans centric conversation, FA would be where we need to spend this cash with oir current roster. Cant just pay jeff and skronski 70mil a year each for the shits and giggles of it.

One can speculate as to why our running game is so dysfunctional, whether it’s scheme, line or back, or the emphasis on pass blocking from Bill Callahan.. I’d start with establishing what kind of scheme, get the right offensive line coach, and determine how to build a strong development program for oline.. I’d look to spend in free agency on a back and another inline TE, but develop the oline through the draft-

Its completely made up. I said nfl teams should stop paying mid level qbs like they are top 5 at their position and either let them walk or pay them proportionally less like any other position. 

 

Creeping came in and asked who i want to overpay to makeup the difference, and I for some reason tried to reason with him leading to this talk of where to spend the money.
