CreepingDeath
I appreciate that Matt "the flower" Lafluer can be just as shitty as any other coach. As reactionary and emotional fans living in a 24/7 "news" world, it helps me stay reactionary and emotional.

It's extremely difficult to run plays when the defense knows exactly what's coming. Defenses spend way too much time studying film for OCs to get away with lazy play calling. One of the things that makes Shannahan so great is he can run a lot of different plays from the same looks/formations. As an offense you have to be extremely disciplined with the details in order to not tip off plays. That's the kind of thing you have to be hyper-focused on it in practice. I think very few coordinators are good at disguising plays. TBF it also depends on players giving enough attention to the details and having enough time in the system. Barton knew exactly where Herbert was going with the ball on his pick six because of their tendencies on film and how they were lined up.
