I'll go on record saying I was against trading Simmons. I'm kinda shocked at how universal the sentiment was that Borgonzi dealt him. I get people want draft capital to rebuild, but Simmons is a DPOY

Vrabel is such a little bitch.

I always felt the idea of coaching job rankings to be overly simplistic because a lot of what factors in we don't see (org/culture fit upon interviews and meetings, compensation negotiations etc), but I wonder how the Giants and Titans HC gigs rank on the surface.

Both have expectations of working with an embedded young QB. Keep in mind that Dart has been evaluated for concussion 4 times already this season and is possibly facing missed time because of the latest one.

The Giants are an OG NFL franchise playing in the biggest market, most followed division, with a fairly patient, stable owner and organization. Those aren’t necessarily primary considerations, but they might tip the scales for some candidates, and potentially even offset the tax benefits of the Titans gig.

For 2026, the Titans have 83M in effective cap space.  The Giants are 4M over the effective cap.

Will be much higher than that by the time Borgonzi is finished culling the overpaid and underperforming veterans this offseason.

I almost mentioned that but wanted to do an apples to apples comparison to the giants.

Giants are also missing their 3rd round pick after trading up for Dart,

The Giants have a lot more talent in the premium positions than the Titans do they have LT, 3 EDGE rushers one being the league leader in sacks in Burns, DT Lawrence, stud young WR Nabers.

Jim Harbaugh is coach of the year

As much as I hate to say it, I think Steichen wins it. Media will want to reward the owner. They certainly are performing above expectations.

Vrabel already got one.

I legitimately don't think that two mid-1st rounders plus that money in free agency would have resulted in a better Titans team overall (not that anyone offered two 1sts). Think about it -- would you take Simmons or the combo of Latham, Skoronski, and Calvin Ridley?

You're not finding another Simmons with those draft picks, and the chance of blowing that draft capital is very real. And that is before you even factor in the other stuff that culture, locker room, etc.

Ain't nobody listening to that rah rah shit in the locker room when they're losing games. Simmons is not ENOUGH BETTER than other DTs to create wins. Because of that, he's a luxury. Add to this: penalties and missing games due to injury...

They're missing an opp to trade him for upgrades elsewhere. Plain and simple.

I have no evidence for it but i still think if we were in any shape or form contending for even a playoff spot over the last 3 years he likely plays most of the games he missed.
