I wasn't against it.  But we had a sure thing with Vrabel - he'd win with a good roster and could be respectable with a bad one.  Even as hard as we were on him offensively, they had a top offense when they had the talent. You can do better, but you absolutely can (and will) do worse if you're careless.   And dumping him for a non -play calling OC from a team which never achieved a Top 5 scoring offense despite elite talent was exactly that.

Stop the nonsense. Vrabel was not dumped for Callahan... vrabel was fired/forced out and the team decided to look for an offensive minded HC to replace him.

With the benefit of hindsight, it's just as well that we fired him in 2023 because he would've been just as bad if not worse in 2024. This roster stinks and he was going to struggle enough to be fired anyways. It's all water under the bridge at this point.

The issue was never Vrabel, it was always roster management. 

 

Like it or not. 

 

I understand Vrabel forced his way out. But he only did because we had back to back incompetent GM'S.

 

He wanted the power because those who were making the "calls" were screwing things up. 

 

I wish things had gone differently, we all do.. But it's done. 

 

Now we have our "beloved" Cally. Let's rally behind him and his win today.

I liked Vrabel, thought he was a good coach. I watched him lead us to victories we never should have had. 

 

When they fired him I hated it. But I want what's best for the Titans always.

 He was 3-5 with Levis in a stretch which included 5 playoff teams in 2023.  He would have fared much better than Callahan with a schedule in which 50% of opponents had rookie or backup QBs in 24.

The roster the year Vrabel got fired was abysmal. It was worse than anything we've seen since then save for Henry.

Vrabel is one helluva coach.  It's hard for some of us to see because hate blinds people.  I say hate because a lot of us just can't let go of things.  It was obvious Vrabel was a good coach his first season.  The NFL does the best job in US Sports of giving teams an equal shot.  Draft.  Salary Cap.

 

We were lucky to have gotten Vrabes.  You see the energy of his players.  We saw it for years.  We had declining talent, especially at QB.  Imagine him with Cam.  {them} He forced his way out of here.  There's always little stories the drip from the organization after anyone leaves. 

 

Here's our problem.  Ownership.  We are a flyover city.  Number one vacation site in America.  No state income tax.  Top talent doesn't even want to come and we don't retain players very well.  After a player leaves, here come the same bunch-He didn't really want to stay.  He's rather live and play in Cleveland.  GMAB.

 

First, you have to realize something is wrong.  Then examine.  Look at what remains the same.  Make sure that part is working.  If it's not, it will screw up everything.  Hire bc.  Oh, we had a lot of top candidates and bc was hands down the best candidate.  After three games, he lost the major part of why he got the job.  Have sense enough to look at other franchises.  The Patriots hire a HC that shown he's a winner.  The Titans hire...

 

Whatever, I'm a Titans fan.  Even if I moved to another state, country, universe-I am a Titans fan.  I want the best.  I ordered a lobster one night at dinner.  Waiter brings a lobster with one claw.  I say where's  his other claw?  Waiter says he was in a fight and lost his claw.  I replied, "Bring me the winner."

Jack Gibbens is getting significant snaps out there.  He's largely managing a flawed roster like he did here.
