The ACA was passed in 2010. For 15 years it didn't happen.  Now there is the potential because republicans are trying to cut premium support and undermine it.

The level of stupidity and or dishonesty to argue this is hilarious

There was another point I let go when it was posted (go back a page), but I'll summarize it....

Pre ACA (2010) my premium for health insurance was $400/month.   Now (at least 16 years later) my premium is $1400.  ....death spiral.

Well,  hello.....do you think healthcare costs have gone up in 16  years?

Virtually 100% of Americans agree that the United States'  healthcare system is out of control and completely FUBAR'ed.

This includes doctors and healthcare providers themselves:   EVERYONE  agrees the system is fucked.

What's crazy to me is that Republicans make absolutely ZERO effort to fix the system.   They acknowledge the need for healthcare reform....but have no ideas, no suggestions, and no inclination to fix the system.

The ACA obviously has plenty of issues and shortcomings.    If the system is as  horrible and ineffective as Republicans contend, then surely they'll have no problem coming up with a better plan....right?

Nope.   They have no plan.   Hell, they don't even have a concept of a plan.  Republicans have spent the past 15 years complaining about the evils of Obamacare and doing everything in their power to tear it down and destroy it....and they've had 15 years to come up with ideas or suggestions to improve the system or replace it outright.

And 15 years later.... still nothing.

They know the system is broken.....and they refuse to make any effort to fix it.

Either come up with a better idea.....or get out of the way and STFU.

What makes you say that? Regardless the dems have a much stronger position on the long term CR. They are picking the fight tonight for show, nothing more. They know there is zero chance the GOP will cave and extend the ACA subsidies. They will gain nothing except a lot of pissed off federal workers and a large portion of them in northern VA which is now in early voting. Can't win VA without those voters...

Its fairly simple really.

Republican lawmakers are controlled by the rich who can pay out of pocket and don't want taxes paying for everyone's healthcare so they can keep/make more money.

And Republican voters are exceptionally susceptible to propaganda and manipulation which is controlled by the rich.

No way she wins by 15%.... Last local polls had her +6%.

I think 15 is high.  But the 6 poll was a Republican one.  Point is the shutdown doesn't appear to be hurting her.

so far. like I said yesterday, thank goodness the GOP is fucking this up. From Trump/Voight's purge to Johnson keeping the House out of session for weeks. The Blame is pretty split down party lines but apoliticals and independents are swinging toward the Dems on this which is helping
