Back on topic.....  Can tonight's episode possibly compete with last week's?

For action sequences? No, it didn't. But not every episode is going to have an epic battle scene. Tonight's episode was great for setting up the final two episodes.

Littlefinger has his pulse on Arya and Sansa both. Arya is a bad ass, but littledicker has been playing this game for a long time. The ace in the hole is Bran, however. Unless something happens to him of course. That being said, something has to give with Littlefinger eventually. Every ladder reaches its pinnacle, especially when the ladder is chaos.

Well for anyone who cares to read this, here are my (lengthy) thoughts now that I’ve had a chance to sleep on it.   I’ll start by saying I'm not sure I've ever been more hyped for an episode

I loved the fact that Theon won his fight cause he has no dick. Haha

Something I noticed tonight.  At the tower of Joy, Dayne wished Ned good fortune in the wars to come right before Jon's lineage was revealed

tonight - the same line was used by Jon to Dany right before it cut to Sam and Gilly revealing more about his lineage.  Just a neat parallel.

Awesome catch, but at the tower of Joy Dayne said that right before he got into a battle that ultimately cost him his life.

This show is all 'bout dat foreshadow bidness.

Interesting that Sam cut Gilly off right as she was about to reveal that Jon isn't a bastard after all.

Yes, that was probably the biggest reveal of the ep. Of course, Drogon confirmed it earlier when he didn't just eat Jon...

Arya is on to Littlefinger. Littlefinger is on to Arya. If it's a battle of wits, I pick Littlefinger.

Not sure what value the scroll is unless he thinks he can use it to throw Sansa under the bus and take over the combined forces of the North and Vale for himself.

Well, the reveal is more about the context of Rhaegar and Lyanna's relationship. Remember, a lot of people, including Sansa, think that Rhaegar kidnapped Lyanna and raped her. What Gilly said revealed that Rhaegar had his marriage to the Dornish girl annulled and secretly married Lyanna. They were husband and wife, not kidnapper and rape victim.

Just depends on what was on the scroll. Since Littlefinger knew Arya would take it I can't imagine it's anything damaging to himself, such as a reveal about what started the war of the 5 kings or the fact that he betrayed Ned. I wouldn't be surprised if the scroll was a fraud and planted by Littlefinger, or the girl he had an interaction with in the barn when Arya was watching.

The maesters don't trust anything to do with magic or White Walkers or anything else mystical.

One of the funny bits was after dismissing the scroll about Bran they were comparing it to the stories from Jenny of Oldstones. Book readers may remember her as someone who knew a woods witch (the Ghost of High Heart) who is thought to be one of the Children and was full of prophecies.

Yep. That was huge. This may be an even bigger reveal than R + L = J, which everyone pretty much knew anyway. Them actually being married though is something most weren't sure about. It's a game changer. It means Jon is a legitimate heir of Rhaegar Targaryen and has the better claim to the throne over Dany.

It was the letter Sansa wrote to Robb after Ned was arrested.  Asking Robb to come bend the knee to Joffrey and that the Lannisters were treating her well.  I'm assuming Baelish is attempting to cause strife between the sisters making it look like Sansa has always valued power over her love for her family.

Will be interesting to see how they resolve that whole conflict. They could easily have Bran see something and it's game over for Littlefinger. Instead, I think I would rather Arya and Sansa work it out for themselves. Either way, I can't see Littlefinger coming out on top this time.

Edit: Also, things are totally set-up for @OILERMAN's prediction now from several pages back! Cersei 'bout to let the Army of the Dead do her work for her.
