Well for anyone who cares to read this, here are my (lengthy) thoughts now that I’ve had a chance to sleep on it.   I’ll start by saying I'm not sure I've ever been more hyped for an episode

I loved the fact that Theon won his fight cause he has no dick. Haha

I was actually coming here to post I think Ramsay may have killed Roose and his wife. The way the scene with Sansa and that girl went down gave me a feeling that Ramsay had just done something rash and set her off into a bit of a frenzy.

I understand The Mountain has been resurrected as a monster, but what damage can he really do? he is still just one thing. Hell, the dragon was pretty much handled by a group of masked peasants.

Lastly, I think it's really stupid that Jamie would let Ellaria get anywhere near Myrcella. Actually, it's even dumber that Bronn would. Bronn witnessed first hand their use of slow acting poisons. Perhaps that's what the point of that ridiculous pussy line was as they left - to try and portray him as distracted.

Its not really about what she can gain though. Its about what is the right thing to do. If she's going by the law he's allowed the choice to take the black. Actually she probably should've already given him that option.

I think its highly likely he joins the watch and becomes the new Lord Commander.

Ramsey is the new Joffrey, he's the guy everyone loves to hate. What I'm curious about is why wasn't Roose Bolton shown anywhere in the finale?

When Stannis initially set up camp near Winterfell, Roose just wanted to wait things out and let the enemy forces starve, mutiny, then desert Stannis.

But when the Bolton army launched its deadly counter-attack, where was Roose? Nowhere. Is it possible that Ramsey murdered his father and took over?

He was going to wait out a siege until Stannis showed up w/ half the army and no Calvary.

Why would Roose risk himself in that fight when he could send Ramsey?

Not disagreeing with you, but just thinking out loud here.  The problem with this analysis is that Stannis did not commit any crime, per se.  At least not as far as Brienne is concerned.  For her, it is personal.  So there is really no law at play here.  She swore an oath to protect Renly, Stannis killed him, and sees it as her duty to kill Stannis.  At least that's what she tells herself.  We all know it is really as much a personal vendetta as anything, given her love for Renly.

The point being, nothing about Brienne and her beef with Stannis really falls under any laws.  She is no more obligated to let him take the black than she is justified in killing him.

All that said, ever since someone mentioned the possibility of Stannis taking the black a few pages back I have thought that seems like a good and possible outcome.

This interview with the Davos actor makes it sound like Stannis character is finished:

While I could see everyone being sworn to secrecy about Jon Snow, and therefore I don't trust anything Kit Harrington or the director says about his character, the same wouldn't apply to Stannis, I wouldn't think.  Seems like he's dead.

Guess we gotta wait until next season to get confirmation on Stannis. But I'm holding out hope that the writers didn't really allow themselves to end it as fucking gay as they did. Stannis loses a battle and somehow, some way, Brienne of  Campaign Feminism just manages to catch him near death to finish him off and secure her goal of avenging a homo who one danced with her and frankly had no business declaring himself King.

First the Hound then Stannis.

K.

Amazing warrior that busybody is.

As far as she's concerned he killed his brother. He killed her king. Pretty sure there are laws against that :) Didn't she say something to the affect of her judging him guilty of murder and the punishment was death?

I don't see why they'd be secretive about one and not the other.

Yeah I guess I see what you are saying.  Like I said, she is lying to herself really in that this is mostly personal, but yes, in her head you're right - Renly was her king, and she did give a little soliloquy there saying how she is punishing him by death in the name of her king, etc. etc.  So yes, under her logic I guess it would make sense that she is obligated to let him take the black if that's what he wants to do.

Brash, but pretty well said.

I was equally pissed when she fought Jaime and the show just made it look like she'd straight up own him in a fight when the books did a good job of explaining how his exhaustion and the beatings he had taken made her know she was fighting him at maybe 50% effectiveness.

The comments on YouTube in her scene with Stannis are hilarious. Most are right. Brienne is little Mary Sue who has more luck than anyone in Westeros.

Brienne's meanderings in the books were one of the things folks complain about with books 4 and 5 that I never minded.  I like Brienne's character.

I wouldn't call her very lucky.  She's an extremely ugly oaf of a woman who has been shit on all her life, yet can't be a knight like she wants because she is a woman.

I also thought the show did a pretty good job with her and Jamie.  It seemed obvious to me that Jaime was badly broken when they fought, and his hands were shackled, yet he still held his own.  My wife didn't read the books and she got out of it that Brienne was a badass, but Jaime must be a total badass given how well he fought with all that going against him.
