I'm not a McCarthy fan but I think part of that was they needed a new voice. McCarthy had been there for 13 years and things had gotten stale. McCarthy hires terrible coordinators on his own accord. It's a big part of the reason why things went south in GB, and why Dallas's defense was so bad in his first year.
