Signing Wilson and Winston doesn't kill their need for a QBOTF but it certainly feels like admitting defeat on the possibility of getting up to #1 and taking Cam Ward. Would still expect the Giants to take a QB at some point in this draft even if its a Tyler Shough or Kyle McCord level prospect. OzTitan
It's not at all likely, but it is still technically possible the Giants could just turn around and include Russ in any trade package. $10M guaranteed cap hit + Cam's 2025 cap hit is not exactly a huge burden. Obviously you'd wonder why the Titans didn't just sign Russ themselves, but in the chess game of draft trade posturing, it kind of makes sense for the Titans to go as late as possible without QB options, and for the Giants to cover their QB options as well as possible. Lol Like I said, not at all likely, but we're talking pre-camp before any player has actually done anything with their new teams and fairly minimal cap impacts here, it is not technically impossible for the Giants to treat this as insurance and consider any cap impact from such a move as part of the cost of doing business to get the 1st pick. At this stage, if the Titans were to trade the 1st pick, it almost has to include some QB in it - who else will they play? Of course it is much more likely the Giants read the room after Cam's pro day and no longer think they can make the move.
BudsOilers
Giants clearly conceding defeat on a trade up. They still could draft Sanders at 3. AussieTitanFan08, and ChesterCopperpot1

They would want picks not a 36 year old QB

What an absolute circus to have Wilson, Winston, and Sanders all on the same roster competing to be the starter. It'd be like when the Jets signed Tebow. They could still draft Sanders but I'm doubting it with this Wilson move. I think Wilson and Winston are competing with each other. I can't see Wilson signing to be part of a circus with Winston and Sanders.
