JRob's  three first-round picks from 2020-2022 will preclude him from ever garnering serious consideration for another NFL GM gig.   Wilson, Farley and Burks might very well be the single most useless

lol hearing QC talking about the importance of the OL…..

Next they'll have Meathead on saying someone should trade for Dillard!

Back to TNF and the bottom of the sports page.  Everyone in the football world was recognizing the Titans as a top team.  Nationally a lot of new people started rooted for the Titans.  Titans gaining national fans?  Gee Doggie!  But somewhere there was a tiny group of fans(lmao) explaining the HC was a meathead, the star RB was a bum and giggled while calling the GM-Quevar Chummy.

Well, we got the No. 1 pick.  Meathead would have never got us that!

Bottom line is that if you state publicly that winning playoff games isn't good enough

Unless you're the HC saying this, as well as we're not going to run into stacked boxes, when it's actually what you believe more than anything

I'd like to go back and look at the Julio trade thread. People were laughing at me and Bud for saying no way would JRob do that trade as it went down.

That was universally loved by the board outside a small handful of people who said the guy was done with the hamstrings…

Me and Bud argued there was no way Robinson would give up a high pick as well as take on his whole contract at the time. It's by far the dumbest thing JR did. Some of the draft stuff is bad luck and even the AJB trade looks worse now that at the time but that trade was as stupid as it gets.

The Falcons were boxed in and desperate. They fleeced Robinson

The Dupree signing is underplayed on TR.  It was unlikely to be anything other than $33M for a season and a half of a second fiddle.  And imo inexcusable chasing him on the heels of all those known injury acquisitions

Hitting on Simmons was a lot like the running game in the 2019 postseason for Vrabel. It gave Robinson some confidence that it was some kind of cheat code for getting better value. After that it failed miserably, just like the running game in the postseason after the 2019 Ravens game

Once the news came out about the cost I think all of us were in shock. I remember everyone was excited about the news until it came out we paid a 2nd and 4th AND the entire contract. I still have absolutely zero idea what the hell he was thinking. He got a broken down Julio and paid his contract then traded a prime All Pro because of money and only got one round up the exact same deal?

If anyone hires him again I'm going to laugh for a good long minute.

Interesting thought. You're 100% right. Same with AJ. He just thought he could keep replacing players. You can't do that without a guy like Brady who covers so many holes. He also completely whiffed 3 straight times on guys who were soft, injured, both, or didn't love football and all of the above. Really historical run of ineptitude.

When ABJ and Julio were healthy and played together the offense was great, it was just a very small sample size.

It's a common mistake, they got close in 2019 and tried to find the final piece. That never works out.

Every season you start over from the start. Brady and Belichich have talked about this numerous times.

The trade wasn't even that terrible in principle, as you noted when they were healthy the offense was right at the tops in the league. The cost though was stupid as all hell. He really fucked the cap up by then retructuring Tannehill 's contract to get Julio in, leading to AJ being traded because we couldn't afford the franchise tag the next year when Tanne's contract couldn't be touched because of the one year rule. The whole thing is nuts.
