How long is Levis' leash?

While I agree, that simply isn't how Callahan or Carthon will see it. If Levis is literally the primary reason for losses going forward they will lose that locker room if they don't make the change.

It isn't a situation where you have 2 complete dogshit QBs so a change doesn't matter. Rudolph has shown competent play. If Levis keeps this up he's gone week 5.

That's where the problem lies. Proving if Levis is the primary reason. Levis' bad play was the nail in the coffin but we didn't lose because of him. He was one of several reasons. Had we won the message would have been that we won despite his poor play. He is going to have to be blatantly bad for several games to the point where the morale goes downhill. I agree Callahan can't lose the team and that's the only reason they should make a change.

When you listen to the entire Callahan presser from today the real scary thing is he emphasized that he simplified (dumbed down) the game plan due to having a young QB and OL in the hope of reducing o

Reading between the lines, Callahan is making it clear that he's not going down with the Levis ship. The franchise can't afford to tank a season with a new stadium on the horizon.   If he pl

If Levis keeps ignoring Callahan's instructions the leash might be shorter than most expected.

It really does. I didn't see Levis completely imploding like that, but he did, and I've completely redefined expectations. He genuinely looked worse than any start made by Malik Willis...which is crazy as all hell.

You have a short memory.   Levis was terrible but do you honestly remember those three games in 2021 or when he came in for Tannehill last year and proceeded to take sack after sack to somehow get them from first and goal from like the one to back to around the 20?

Willis literally didn’t throw a touchdown in any of his games.

I mean the score would have been tied even without the blocked punt with Levis floundering...so yeah STs played a role for sure, but he was the engineer behind that debacle.

Actually the opposite, but anyways, yes I remember the games Willis played. He lost them because he wouldn't throw. Levis literally handed them the game with the worst pass I've ever seen given the score and circumstances.

Yes, it was a bad throw.  He played horribly.  But come on now.  Malik Willis was so bad that they signed a guy off the street who had never started a game and he made the start like a week or so later.  Willis being so bad is why they had to start Levis in the first place.  How do you honestly think Willis would have fared in the Pittsburgh or Miami games last year?  At least Levis in the game helped put a couple of drives together.  In Willis’s time with the Titans he could barely even do that.

Sure. Go find me a game where Willis had 3 TOs including a game clinching Pic 6. I'll wait.

Many many players have had three turnovers and a game altering (it wasn’t clinching) pick six.  You act like this is a unique thing.  Malik Willis literally never threw a touchdown pass.  This is a clear case of recently bias.  Levis was so much better than Willis, as bad as he was, that I can’t even believe we’re having this discussion.

Of course lots of QBs do that. Levis did his going exactly against what the coaches said to him. He then threw the worst pass I've ever seen to seal the game.

Yeah, Willis is terrible, but Levis said hold my beer.

I think it was the decision that was poor.  He obviously was trying to throw it away and it didn’t work out.  You’re right, Willis wouldn’t have thrown any of the INT.  He’d just take sack after sack and keep losing yardage.  Do you even remember the Baltimore sequence last year?  I’ve never seen a QB do something like that.  Literally.

And I've never seen a QB try to throw a pass like that...we are at worst even, except one was made the starter and has much higher expectations.

Well it’s up to Levis to play better.  I think we can all admit he had a bad game.  Hopefully he learns and improves.  There’s nothing more that can really be said about it.
