Every year I point out players who are struggling in preseason. Every year you guys all get on your intellectual high horse and explain how much none of it matter. Then every year we watch those same players struggle during the season in the EXACT same ways that showed up in the preseason and you guys act like no one could see it coming. Every. Year. Y'all got it though.

Some of us can evaluate, most can't

It's pretty obvious Sweat will struggle during the season with conditioning and technique - I don't know if anyone is really saying let's wait and see on that, it is pretty obviously going to be a factor.

The key will be can he counter those issues with good reps in live games, to make his play a net positive.

I'm holding out hope he can play himself into shape. The staff seems intent on making sure it happens. Odds are against it but I choose to be optimistic on that front.

I'm still hopeful Sweat can be a great rookie. I was just underwhelmed in his first game. I was hoping to see him bust up some blocking schemes. I'm not panicking, just calling it like it was

The commentary on the tweet might be a little ambitious but Williams is someone Callahan heavily praised over the last week.

I don’t know about his LB skills yet, but he’s huge and pretty athletic. I love the kid’s upside.

Not gonna lie, I'm taken aback by the level of defensiveness to such an obvious and limited observation.

I haven't seen anyone being defensive. I've seen people say his reps were fine and it's PSG 1. The latter argument makes a lot more sense to me.

I’m surprised at how much discussion there is on this. These guys are breaking this stuff down like it’s the Zapruder film or something.

Buck made a good point on his prime time. Sweat was doubled on the majority of his plays. When Jeff is beside him like he should be the majority of the season is when we will truly see his value. Jeff with draw the doubles and if Sweat can make impact plays on single blocks he will be well worth the pick.

I question whether a guy with his body type can play at 360 or 370 in the NFL in 2024-2025. He should probably shed 30 lbs and turn some of that fat into muscle. The biggest issue with Sweat to me is conditioning at his current weight. He could get away with that in College. That won't be the case in the NFL no matter how much talent he has.

It brings to mind big WRs like Mike Williams for USC who played for the Lions. Big dominating WR who was athletic enough for college but not for the NFL at that size. Or a QB like Johnny Manziel.

Its not about being dominant in college so much as if what made you dominant will translate to dominance in the NFL
