He's stayed pretty consistently in the middle at any current time in politics. Bernie pushed him left last primary and he's had to stick to that to keep the left support.    I agree though t

We all saw what happened.  There were crimes committed as evidenced by the convictions.  And its obvious that the intent of Trump's mob was to stop the inauguration of a duly elected president.

Watching the d day ceremony this am and it makes me sick we could elect trump who has no respect for our country or institutions. Whether you like Biden or not, the grace, humility, and honor he's dis

It’s impossible for him to be self appointed dictator.  The moment he tries something like that, he violates the constitution.
If so many other branches/politicians agreed on his appt, it’s civil war.

to think this will actually happen is not realistic in any way and would mean zero faith in the current system.

vote against him if you think his goals are to pursue policies that lead to the failure of the US.

outside of that, you described almost every other politician out there, they go after things that benefit themselves.

Since when does violating the constitution matter to Republicans much less Trump?

That would be uncharted waters. His need to be liked before all this happened kind of kept some reins on him, almost his own self-imposed fetters.

I think those are gone. You could see in the video with him saying I don't care about you. I just need your vote.

Uncharted? No, Andrew Jackson did.

Good point. I meant in the direction of being a dictator, but you're right and what Jackson did was essentially undercut the courts to the point he could have become one if he wanted. Good call.

Close enough...that it's disheartening.

Yeah the whole situation is disheartening. It's disheartening that people - anyone at all - are so propagandized and ignorant, that they can't use simple logic or understand BS when they see it, can't separate an emotional argument from reality. It's disheartening that Christian religion teaches love your neighbor / treat others how you want to be treated and that the Republican Party preaches small governemnt... but the literal exact opposite is the main tenant of their party now and folks that have been in it so long are too dense to notice the difference. That's what's disheartening.

Most of the actual election stuff going on (not random polling) is actually pretty heartening. There's lots of reason for encouragement.

Just this week, a republican district in Ohio shifted +20 points in a special election towards the Dems. Yeah, the Dem still lost but Republicans and Trump won by 30+ points last time and this time it's around 10. The Democratic Candidate was a waiter that raised only $25,000 vs his opponent who was a State Senator that raised like 30x that.

Good points and good stuff. You're right. It's still just crazy to me anyone could willingly follow the clown.

get the rich!!!!!

the rich are the problem!!!

etc etc etc

since 2020, top 1% grew 50% in wealth.

top 10% have 67% of the wealth.

Are you trying to argue both sides or do you honestly think that’s some weird defense of the wealthy?

One side states that the rich is their target, for “fair share” and such.

the other never states a target or goal of the rich but gets attacked for tax breaks to the rich.

I think the liars would be the bigger issue on the topic.

I said before, elites love when Democrats are running things, this 4 year run is a great example despite Biden’s effort supposedly to work towards evening it out.

bottom line, Biden is pro-elites.

Yep, it’s clearly Biden’s fault Republicans passed a massive tax cut for the wealthy while Trump was president!
