Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee announced Thursday that Trump and 16 co-defendants will move forward on their own schedule, with a trial date yet be announced.

The two remaining co-defendants, Kenneth Chesebro and Sidney Powell, sought speedy trials and are scheduled to begin in October.

Thursday’s order is a victory for Trump and his fellow co-defendants who did not want to go to trial this October. The schedule laid out by the judge only cemented some of the steps in the pre-trial process, setting up the possibility that the trial itself does not happen until well into 2024, or even later.

He is headed to prison

I spent about an hour last night explaining to someone the indictment for classified documents. It isn't about any of the documents being declassified. The backbone of it is that he knowingly and intentionally stole US Government property. That is the people's property regardless of how one may feel about the government. The indictment is in and of itself a showing that we are not ruled by a king. It isn't his personal property regardless of classification.

yep. It's about him having defense secrets. The law pre-dates the classification system.

It is, however, the least likely case to actually go to trial before the election in 2024 though. The Jan 6th and GA cases will go first.

fuck you Jeff Clark

Trump-era Justice Department official Jeffrey Clark cannot move his Georgia election subversion case from state to federal court, a judge ruled Friday.

The ruling from US District Judge Steve Jones is the latest blow to the Georgia defendants who are trying to move their state prosecutions into the federal system, where they could get more favorable trial conditions or increase their chances of getting the criminal charges dropped altogether by invoking immunity protections for US government officials.

Hall, 59, a bail bondsman, pleaded guilty to five counts of conspiracy to commit intentional interference with performance of election duties.

He will receive five years of probation and agreed to testify in further proceedings as part of the deal.

Hall had been charged with racketeering and a half-dozen conspiracy charges related to the alleged tampering with election equipment in Coffee County.

Over and under on how long he'll survive in Russia, since he's no longer a useful idiot?

What do you think he'd be doing from Russia? He'd be spewing propaganda and egging on his followers to violence 24/7. And they'd believe he's being persecuted by the Dems.

He'd still be useful.

Now if he actually went to jail... I could see him getting Epsteined.

Eh.  He may keep some of the faithful, hell he may keep all of them, but still....  He would no longer have a chance to change policy and really help Russia and Saudi...  He'd be Prigozhin'd.
