YouTube TV is far superior to Sunday Ticket from a technical performance pov.  Sunday Ticket was like a mall filled with power walkers and one JC Penney

Of course.  I'm not 100% sure what 279 was getting at, but I'm going to place my bet on Google, the internet software company over ATT to produce a better product.

I assume the thinking is that 99% of international sports fans are soccer fans.  Hell, American football could be 3 or 4 on the list of favorite sports of an international fan.  Keep the price manageable with the hope of creating an international NFL fanbase.

Again. I understand the concept of dynamic pricing, but I believe it’s wayyyy to high priced still to try to get people who are on the edge.

The cheapest in the entire world is still almost $100 USD but if you look at something like EPL for English soccer you can get that for $5 here because it’s a low enough of a price point to convince someone it’s worth watching  and might gain some fans.

You’re not gaining fans for 100s of dollars per fan, you’re just giving them what they are already looking for.

It's giving the new American football fan a way to see all of the games for a reasonable price.  I doubt Goodell is checking the stats on 3rd world countries.  We're talking Euro and Aussie audience that can easily afford $100.

It’s not $100 there. In China it was like $280-350, I’m sure London and Germany are priced pretty similarly

Australia is $153 so not bad actually

Do we know anything about the international product?  Is it google?  Is it the same as last year?  Regardless, I'm going to bet that there was verbiage in the Google deal with the NFL that they better start policing people in the US getting the cheaper international package.

Cable or satellite are better for watching sports than internet streams because of the delay.

I'm going to bet that Google makes this package a lot more dynamic and exciting than anything that Directv could provide.  May not happen in the first year but will over time.  As far as the price being higher than last year?  Yeah, everything is more expensive than last year...

Not sure why they need the time to figure that out though? It’s such a low hanging fruit strategy to guarantee a return on their investment in year one. And I’m sure it’s one of the most requested features since the DTV days. The price isn’t bad when you bump it up against all 17 games across 32 teams. But not everyone has time for that, so is the value there for the average viewer?

YoutubeTV is a fantastic product that I loved as an early adopter from 2018 to 2020. Price increased from $35 to $65 in that time amidst multiple contract disputes with content providers and even lost ESPN for a few days or two weeks (I think) in that time. Some were discontinued altogether. Eventually the price was on par with cable (after taxes and fees) without any flexibility. That same stubborn approach is showing up here now, too.

I personally would sign back up for YouTubeTV with a cheaper al a carte option and I’d be right on this if I could do a Titans only option for all 17 games. And I can’t be the only one out there wanting that, too.

Personally, the delay is not a factor for me.  I really couldn't care less if my TV is 30-45 seconds behind live because it's "live" to me when I see it in my living room.

And I'm still not sure what your point is now that all of the out of market packages are solely via streaming services and no longer available via cable or satellite.

Delay is an important part of technical performance for live sports and the difference in delay is massive.

Go to a game in person and quit trying to be a high frequency trader

It's not even the exact same service though.  International gamepass not only gets the live games but also gets the All-22.

Domestic Sunday Ticket doesn't include A-22.  We have to buy a second package for that.

For me, the biggest difference between International gamepass and Sunday Ticket is that Sunday Ticket has always just been watch live games.  If I want to start a game at 12:15 instead of 12:00, the International version asks if I want to watch live or watch from the beginning.  I can watch from the beginning and skip through commercials, etc., and catch back up to live pretty quickly.  I can also pause a game if I need to which Sunday Ticket doesn't do.  What I do the most though is rewind to re-watch plays where they didn't show a replay and I wanted to see what happened again.  Sometimes I do it immediately or sometimes I wait for a commercial break, back it up to re-watch and don't have to miss any of the game to do it.  It would be great if the YouTube version of Sunday Ticket added that instead of just live or nothing.

I use YouTube tv currently and have that functionality by “recording” a movie, etc.  Hopefully that will also be available to do with an NFL game.  Don’t see why it wouldn’t.

I do this with basketball on YouTube TV all the time.  It's amazing to skip all the commercials, and often disappointing when I catch up to live.

Haha oh definitely. Most people were not using fake student discounts or VPNs to bypass Sunday Ticket, and many of those who did will bite the bullet when given no choice.

I'm curious though can you sign up for YouTubeTV ($75), buy the add-on ($100 discount) and cancel YouTubeTV after a month or are you locked in to using YouTubeTV for the duration of the add-on?

Sunday Ticket did all this with Directv.  I could DVR as many games as I wanted and watch them all live or delayed with rewind, etc.

Now the "online only" version did not have that capability and perhaps that is what you used?
