The Titans:

"Wow, this rookie stone-cold stopped Bosa. That's impressive. We've got our future locked in. Also, we should make sure he never plays except in pure emergency and let's inactivate him in the playoffs."

That game has obtained mythic status but if you cut through the noise he played very well in a bad situation and since they had to help Quessenberry so much, he was left one on one most of the game. He was beat a fee times with power but otherwise it was a promising debut. I wouldn't say it was enough to move on from Lewan so quickly though.

The game was enough to give me some hope. But their usage of him before and after that game suggests that they still have some sort of significant concerns and / or a lack of trust.

I hope he grows into a role next year. But here's a chance, probably not great but one that his usage requires me to assume exists, that he doesn't even start next year. And if he does start, I do think he will, there's a much bigger chance that he's closer to limited than great.

Lewan's not taking a pay cut. If we cut him, he'll take the few mil left in guaranteed money from us, then sign another deal for at least as much as we're looking to pay him. A 31 year old starting LT on the free market? There's a reason that doesn't happen often.

He sucked at RT his rookie year when Roos was LT.

I don't recall Lewan playing RT.  Roos played RT one year overlap while BHop was here but I don't remember Lewan doing it.

I do remember Lewan saying he was no RT when Conklin was drafted.

I'm pretty sure that Roos played LT in 2014, his last year - while Lewan played RT in 2014 but maybe I'm getting mixed up here.

Either way, Lewan has definitively said he is a LT only as you said.

You could pay two high level interior OL in terms of year 1 cap hit for what Lewan’s cap hit is and upgrade the line overall.

For instance, it’s likely you could sign Laken Tomlinson to play LG and sign Ryan Jensen to play center (upgrade on Ben Jones and younger, Robinson tried to sign him previously). This would end up slightly downgrading LT, but upgrading two other positions.

The question is whether Radunz is better at LT or LG. I think I know the answer but it will be interesting to see. Vrabel was really excited about Radunz performance after that game.

He was inactive later in the year because Levin and Brewer play multiple positions well, as does Lamm who plays guard and big TE too. Radunz can play other positions due to his intellect, but he is only seemingly proficient at one position currently and that’s left tackle where he played in college.

Would be the worst in the league
