And him going it alone was not going to win him any support from the people who attacked him for supposedly backing off the red line. But the threat got a diplomatic agreement done. What are a few troops going to do? Perhaps if Germany needed US energy but in this fucked up green presidency, such things impossible. If anything NATO has been revitalized by Putin’s move here. A poll I found interesting was how in 2014 (before Crimea) that only around 15% of the Ukraine wanted to join NATO. It’s now over 50%. Also interesting that by taking Crimea the Russians took a bunch of native ethnic Russians and Russian speakers (several millions) from the Ukraine and it ended up making West Ukraine even more powerful in the country. They’re now more homogenous because of the Russian actions in 14. Time to stop blaming Trump. Russia is a 3rd world nation by every metric available except for military. They’re cornering themselves. Russia is invading because Putin definitely believes Ukraine is the heart of the Soviet Union, he also won't pay any fees to transport natural gas into Europe. I'm curious to see what Germany says about Putin, I bet they haven't said anything because they have natural gas pipelines straight from Russia that they need considering green energy failed in Germany. Let's see what happens when the ground thaws over there, if it's thawed that would be the time for Russia to invade so he can move his tank easier.
