Now answer my questions.

Yeah I think we would've been better prepared for the pull out from Afghanistan under Trump. I don't think we would've left that much weaponry over there either. Just my opinion. Just think Biden is incompetent

His words are 100% in line with how the withdrawal happened and how we’ve handled the post withdrawal. He doesn’t care about any of those people.

You decided to leave out the most poignant parts of his quotes for a reason. I didn't say I disagree with you. I've said the opposite actually while maintaining context. There was no way to get out all of those people in that amount of time. The other choice was open warfare. Those were the choices. His callous language likely stemmed from his ethos of "I'm not sending my boy over there" for such causes.

I don't have to like it or agree with it. I listened to a segment on NPR the other day that was really horrible about what's happening there. His mindset is essentially that the US has done enough to destroy them already. Look at Libya and Syria. At least appreciate that was his point.

Good luck with that.

He did. Headhunter is an asshole, but that's because he is being treated like one. For good reason in my book, but nonetheless I think he's genuine except when he's openly fucking around.

While I think the same military would have been handling the logistical issues 5 months before, which means they would have had even less time to prepare. The choice was war after an agreed detente or to withdrawal.

I just don't like how we got out of Afghanistan, it was an embarrassment

You mean to tell me that Biden didn't actually make the call to the generals and tell them how to do their job?!?

Yeah, once he became President it was his decision to honor the withdrawal or not. He pushed it back a little and ultimately decided it was the right thing to do no matter the outcome.

If it wasn’t “on him” then it also seems weird to list it as a Biden accomplishment.

If we’re not putting timing on him then we’re left with execution, and the execution was catastrophically horrible lol

The execution was not catastrophically horrible. That's absurd lol.

I don't either. It was always going to be a bad situation. We pumped in almost a trillion dollars to hold take over and prop up a country that never wanted to fight. That wasn't on Trump and it wasn't on Biden. It was a massive mistake to think you could take so many competing factions and try to unify them.

Also, the US Military is not made for such operations. I would hope going forward at least that much is clear.

Nothing he says shows that he cares about either the Vietnamese people or Afghan people, and his actions certainly didn't. I'm confused why you think he cares about them! It makes no sense.

I didn't say he cared for them. I said that even if his words were callous it stemmed from a viewpoint that enough is enough.

So... His words and actions show a callous disregard for those people..? What are you mad at me about then?

And the main reason was the fact that the Afghan government and military rapidly collapsed as the Taliban advanced in keeping with the agreement that had been executed. The failure on the part of the US was an intelligence failure in thinking the military could hold out for several months instead of evaporating in a few days.

Yep. I can't blame them either. They knew we were leaving and their government wasn't even involved in the negotiations. Why would anyone fight for such bullshit?
