So if we had managed to get the bye and the Chiefs had to play two road games against elite teams, Mahomes would have still beaten us here at home like he didn't do last time? Grow the fuck up.

The majority of the time the best QB will win, yes.

A little better than the Tommy Smith, Webster and Whiz days!

That is the understatement of the decade!

Yes, he probably would have. Mahomes was playing out of his mind in the playoffs. As others have pointed out, his really only bad games were with injury.

it’s okay to like Tannehill (cause I like him as a QB as well) but understand that Mahomes is way better.

You can play put of your mind but your TEAM has to cooperate. 3 straight road games? We ran put of steam. I think they would have too.

We rode Henry throughout. Tannehill barely had to use his arm.

Mahomes is clearly better, and it’s not really close.

I don’t really get it either. It isn’t even a shot at Tannehill. If he keeps up his play from last year I have no problem saying he’s a top ten QB with an outside shot at top 5 if he does it 3 straight years. Mahomes is simply on a different level than anyone else in the game right now though. Wilson is second, but I wouldn’t really even put it at a close second.

Better...to be accurate. But define "best". What makes him better than Tanne? You has really rather have him? Not me.

Well he had a record breaking season followed up by a SB ring where he was the primary reason. Of course he's better. What's your top 5 QB list look like?

I've been saying it for years now - the Patriots are poor at drafting.

Belichick the coach covers up a lot of Belichick the GM's mistakes.

Not to defend "their" choices, because good players exist in all nooks and crannies of each round, but maybe it's harder to hit on draft picks when you're always drafting at the back of each round. There's also the Brady aspect of it all. If they were QB'd by a guy who was anyone other than one of the greatest QBs of all time maybe their drafting strategies would have been different. But Brady being there also helped cover up a lot of mistakes.

From soup to nuts, we're going to see who and what the Patriots really are now. It's hard to imagine they'll be as good or better than they have been. That's not a fair comparison for any team, not even the team that holds the same name as those teams. The Pats are probably going to suck for a while, at least on offense. But how quickly they rebound to competitiveness is going to depend on how well Belichick rebuilds with better draft picks. Also, he's gonna need another QB. He won't get another Brady, but he's almost certainly not going to have success with Jarrett Stuffedham. Until he finds a guy they ain't doing shit.

Of course, watch the league's luck go this way: the Patriots bottom out with the worst record in the league in 2020 and draft Trevor ass Lawrence with the #1 overall pick next April. Wouldn't that be peachy as fuck?

You make some good points here.  If you have the GOAT at QB in his 30's and 40ls and are in perennial win now mode, your needs and priorities certainly shift some.  Add in in the whole picking anywhere from 29-32 every year and it's a totally different challenge than taking over a bad team and building them up with top 10-15 picks.  Hence, they accumulate picks via the comp system and trades to give them the ability to move around in the draft.

One thing NE does about as well as anyone is drafting smart, versatile players on the OL and on defense.  Another is simply great coaching and game planning.  I bet NE is better than people think they will be.

Are you honestly trying argue Mahomes vs Tannehill???  Jesus man, what’s wrong with you? Lol

Not going to say tanny is better but you have to admit that tanny had much more impressive stats in the efficiency benchmarks.

I hope this guy googles himself and sees this thread.

He'll be so surprised when he sees that most of it is bickering about what represents a "scoop" for local reporting and (somehow) discussing Tannehill vs. Mahomes.

The offseason, man.

I read this as pos father died every time even though I know it says failed and idk why lol.

The two words kinda look alike I suppose, and I remember telling someone how glad I was back in 2014 not long after it happened.

Hopefully the death of Bud Adams has turned around things for a franchise that struggled mightily during its 37 years here in Houston.

The fans in Tennessee have rarely had to deal with the lean years like the team had here back in the early 70's and 80's. Be thankful for that.

If the chips were down and we needed an 80 yard drive to win the game I would take Tanne all day.

Only a Titans homer would choose Tannehill over Mahomes in any situation. Your opinion on the matter is truly unique.....

To put things in perspective, I was a huge critic of Mahomes coming out of college and had zero faith he would be a successful NFL QB.

But over the past three years he has proven himself to be the best QB in the league right now, and Tannehill isn't even close.
