The fact is, the concept of death being a calm and peaceful end to life is strictly a human construct that defies the laws of nature . For the overwhelming majority of creatures on earth, death means being brutally ripped apart or eaten alive by another creature….or a very slow, agonizing death from starvation and/or disease. Of course, humans generally prefer to avoid thinking about it in such terms….but that’s the reality of life on earth. Kill or be killed… Eat or be eaten.
