In a bizarre interview with Fox News last night, President Trump stood next to a sculpture in the Oval Office that he said depicts former president Teddy Roosevelt, and explained that statues are vita

Biden misspeaks, trips and says some stupid stuff sometimes.   Trump is a complete fucking moron and embarrasses himself routinely.    If you don't see the difference you're either

If only the news media had Costa's spine and were this direct we would be done with all of this.

Yet Costa is also on record as saying Biden is too old, so there's that too 🤦‍♀️

Biden is too old. I have no problem with someone mentioning that and then thoroughly destroying Trump. There's a huge difference between stating a fact and then annihilating the other side versus equivocating.

I don't think we would. I think the more people speak out against Trump, the more his supporters dig in their heels in defiance to the "elitists" and the "freeloaders" and the "intellectuals".

Maybe. Did you read the link @chef linked? It talked about the chaos voter who doesn't care about either party. They only want to see the world burn.

You're correct. I think my post meant if this was 2016 instead of almost a decade later. Once he became president it was over and a part of our fabric at this point.

Yes, it was a good piece. I think there are a lot of blue collar white America who feel like they have been left behind by a changing America. I imagine many felt the same way in the 80's when women started to make real inroads in the work place and sexual harassment suits started crushing men who had gotten away with it for years and older Americans who had been homophobic and racist their entire lives and never held responsible for it but now all of a sudden were.

This is why politics is so hard for me. It's easy to take that and throw lots of people in a box of racism and everything else and that is often what happens, including on this forum all the time. Reality and motivations are so much more complicated than that though.

I thought it was an interesting discussion inside of its own piece. It seemed to me he was having a discussion with himself about the why

That is political science in a nutshell, trying to understand the mechanism of why people follow and how people who lead come to power and what that means for the landscape it defines between the two entities.

I've backed off of thinking I know the answers. I can spot an asshole from a mile away, but is that because I'm one? Probably. Judging others doesn't help the cause of furthering the truth in most instances.

It's gonna be hilarious when the few Trump supporters who were dumb enough to throw away money on this godawful swill finally receive their orders only to find the product has a "Made in China" sticker inside.
