Dennis Kelly needs to start over Conklin

I have praised the Conklin pick and loved it. He’s a great OT

hes coming off an ACL and going to a zone scheme. He can work just fine in it but he isn’t healed and doesn’t know the scheme good enough.

Baltimore game... OL was terrible and Conk was too.

Kelly plays two weeks in a row and OL looks great and offense clicks.

Conk plays today and OL is reminiscent of Baltimore. He’s not ready.

Put Kelly in there

Both

the first drive looked great then the OL broke down for a sack taking out of FG range. Next drive we were moving.

Then Mariota had a pick. That was all him. First glance I thought miscommunication between him and Smith. Maybe Smith should be stopped and came back but kept running and MM threw where he thought Smith would be breaking.

Then I saw the cover 2 and Smith made the right decision and MM threw a bad pass

Funny thing.

When we are on we are unstoppable.

If if we make it to the post season and go on a hot streak I have a hard time seeing anyone stops us

Lord. Teams just have to blitz up the middle and play cover 2.

Its hard to tell we run zone because the middle of the line gets blown up.

JRob needs to get new C/RG/RB and OL Coach this offseason, no offense can function if the middle/interior right side of the line is getting caved in on almost every play.

This offense, neither the run game nor the pass game will get fixed before the O-Line does.  It's one thing to have a bad tackle or other poor performing individual, but INDY read the Raven's defensive playbook. Delayed blitzes coming from who-knows-where and contain on the edges.  Or just blow up the middle and crush the pocket.

Bring back Russ Grimm and seriously consider dumping the ZB schemes.  It's week 11, and these guys aren't getting it.

I do think switching to zone has been a huge problem/disappointment. You almost have to retool the line.

the OL is just so bad right now it's hard to pinpoint exactly where the biggest problem is, also Mariota freezing when blitzed makes things look ever worse.

Its a huge problem and its only a matter of time before every team starts blitzing us. Hes a deer in headlights when he gets blitz. And if its not a quick throw distaster strikes.

You do realize Lafleurs whole coaching background is being involved with zone blocking schemes?

Then he'll let us know when he can make it work in Nashville, right?

Because right now it doesn't.

It's hard to tell from the outside what exactly the issue is, but Plan A didn't work, Plan B involving Fowler got scrubbed, and now Plan C is showing signs of being as big a failure as plan A.  Or who knows, maybe it was Plan A-2.0.

Regardless, it ain't workin'.  This is Bob Bostad-Bad territory.
