You don't think there's any other way that a company can give access to an item to a specific person?

I’m pretty convinced that there is no application for crypto that cannot be implemented more efficiently in a distributed system with a few trusted market makers.

Keep believing that NFTs are basically improvements from Fred Flinstone's car to rubber tires. I don't, most don't... but if it works out all the more power to you at getting in on the ground floor of NFTs.

Because the economy is so robust these days with "trusted" entities and gatekeepers?

https://blog.coinbase.com/is-the-bitcoin-lightning-network-for-real-26e47029687f

Visa and Mastercard are the world’s dominant payment processing networks. By collecting 2–3% transaction fees everytime someone swipes a debit or credit card, they pulled in $24B in 2021. Payment processors leveraging the Lightning Network could undercut that.

Let’s say you want to make a $100 payment to a merchant. Using your credit card would cost the merchant $3, which is then passed along to you via hidden costs. Now what if you converted $100 USD into BTC, transferred it over the Lightning network for less than a penny, before converting the BTC back to $100 USD. A service called OpenNode is able to leverage the Lightning Network to do just that, for a 1% fee. A similar logic can be applied to the $40B global remittance fee market, which averages 6.4% per cross-border transaction.

But again, I suppose there's nothing meaningful there either.

We should probably be sure to cash out when BTC goes back up. Might be the last chance we'll have at breaking even.

@NashvilleNinja when you type in “TitansReport.com”, you trust that you are going to the same site today as yesterday.

That minimal level of trust is all that is needed to collapse the cost of building a distributed system to a nearly free level.

BitCoin is designed to operate without that trust.  It takes an absurd amount of resources to process a transaction.

It is only good for applications which must not be traced.  Bitcoin is a money laundering platform.

I was looking at a crypto reddit to gauge where sentiment is at from the crypto nerds.

"I made almost all of my crypto investments in the past 2 years. Even losing a ton to LUNA, I can happily say I'm only down about 30%."

"The fact that you are here now, even in 2022, you are still one of the earliest adopters. Whether you are up 100k, or down 40%, in a few years it simply won't matter. We will all be massively up."

these conversations have all happened before about 15 times - just different years/ months.

if it goes up huge again you''ll all be sitting there with FOMO then coming back talking shit 8 months after a peak when its 5x from now but down 1/3 from the future peak.

maybe you're finally right and this is finally the end....

or maybe its a just a rinse and repeat.

I have money in crypto and still put a couple bucks a week in because why not, even with everything as "down" as it is I have made plenty of profit on crypto so far. But you keep acting like you know anything.

I'm just not stupid enough to live in la la land, the vast majority of my money goes into traditional investments that have been proven over the test of time and then figured why not gamble on something much more volatile and risky.

anybody that puts all their eggs into one basket isnt very smart.

i certainly dont do that at all even if i do think its the best investment. too many crude actors at play that can control the price for my lifetime some. BTC will be around long after me and even this version of the USA.

diversify, always. land is still the most certain thing to own.

I will say, losing 50% of my crypto investment stings compared to my equities that are 5% down, but both pale in comparison to losing 100% of my RSUs that I'd chosen to receive as options.

Still, hope springs eternal and I continue to bet on my career.
