@NashvilleNinja , yeah I have seen that one before. It truly is amazing. Some people believe that Hal was Satoshi, but I don't think so. I believe it is Len Sassaman, who died in 2011.

Cool article here.

Idk... the timing is extremely peculiar with this being El Salvador's first day. I suspect the crash could have at least partially been government actors trying to fuck with them. El Sal bought the dip though...

Half of the btc subReddit pledged to buy $30 worth today for el Salvidore. So something fucky was going on. Starting to balance back out some.

Anybody hungry for a Bit Mac?

For reference, 0.00009992 translates to $4.68.

In the future, if Bitcoin ever gets to a $1M valuation those same satoshis will be worth $99.92 USD. The satoshi cost for that same meal will go down from 9,992 sats to 468 sats.

How is buying a hamburger even possible since it's not a currency and merely a "store of wealth" like gold bars?

According to the IRS all crypto is "property" but I've never bought a hamburger with a door knob or a window latch before so that's another one for the wtf box.

Of course Bitcoin is a currency. It's also a store of wealth, just like how people have always stored dollars in their savings accounts. Yet you're not questioning that? The difference is dollars had already been established as a medium of exchange. But they had their beginnings too.

Why the hell would you buy a hamburger with something that might go up to 1 mill per coin?

Same reason a guy spent 20k bitcoins on pizza that one time. Price discovery was in the zygote stage. It's moved on to the fetus stage.
