I'm nervous, but I also realize that NT is a really tough position to play in the NFL. I didn't know much about Johnson coming out of college. So I watched the tapes, and he looked pretty good. He's got the size and power to play the role, and I think he's pretty quick for his size. Also, we don't really need him to start as a rookie. Still, when you draft someone that high, you would expect him to at least be the backup, and certainly not to be beaten by an undrafted rookie, even if that UD rookie was a bit of a sleeper in the draft. Number9 Posted August 11, 2016 Report Share Posted August 11, 2016 Maybe this is a good problem. They say nobody is safe. I was hoping he would be the solution at NT. But they are really pushing the team at every position. It shows they keep looking for value everywhere by signing Woods. Everybody who makes this roster will feel more competitive and competent than Whas' team. No one will be relaxed and going through the motions when the season starts either. Face Posted August 11, 2016 Report Share Posted August 11, 2016 I really thought we were going to pick Jarran Reed, he's the prototypical 3-4, 2 gap nose. I liked Johnson a lot though & thought he'd be a solid player from day 1. Johnson is 3rd team right now, BEHIND another rookie, who wasn't even drafted. It's a completely different situation. If Johnson were the backup to Woods, then it would be similar.
